I am torn on Ni no Kuni ... the reviews are almost all stellar and I have a long history spending way too much time playing JRPG games even loaded up the demo which gives you a 25 minute play time and I thought it looked like it had potential.

... my main concern and I don't know why.. something about the whole kid looking for ways to save his mom through magic and I start getting full metal flashbacks.. I dunno I think I just need to suck it up and go buy it.

Like you guys I am mostly a PC gamer but I haven't been playing alot lately looking around I still have Guild Wars 2, Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2, and minecraft installed on my system right now and haven't finished any of them.. no particular reason all good games just too busy.

Allright, so before I went to college I was all about playing video games. I would check gaming websites all the time and save up money to get the newest releases. Well, after my first year of college that all changed. I don't even have any desire to play games anymore except on VERY rare occasions. Like once a month or something. I also watch loads more anime nowadays. So I guess I sort've switched anime for games I guess lol. But just to sum it all up, has anyone else ever just all of a sudden didn't like playing games anymore? I seriously don't know what happened. I just start playing now and I can only last like five minutes.

I went through various phases of this, but I usually felt normal again after a while. This sometimes wouldn't get better for months. I would log on game to game to game and I couldn't find one I could enjoy even if it was one of my past favorites, this was usually, but, sometimes not because of serious things taking place in my life, or things that caused very large amounts of stress. I still can't fully enjoy them anymore without someone else to play with, I got to that point right before I met my former girlfriend, and now I'm that way again. Probably because I don't like playing alone I never have.

I have been wanting to play Ni no Kuni ever since it released. It really seems like it mixes story and gameplay very well. Plus with studio Ghibli involved it's just even that much better lol. I was bummed after first hearing about it due to it being a PS3 exclusive and my PS3 disc reader busted. But I actually heard that you can digitally download it from PSN. So now I think I actually might give this game a try to get out of my slump.

My friend loves it. And yeah, I've been following it because of Studio Ghibli and the fact that Level 5 is one of my favorite Japanese developers. I hope it's on the PSN for you, then! I don't own a PS3 right now (I tend to stick with the PC), but between Ni no Kuni and The Last Guardian, I'm slowly edging closer to buying one as the price drops hahaha. I play my PS2 all the time still. I wouldn't call your lack of interest in gaming a slump, but I hope you enjoy the game!

Appreciate it man! haha I hope it's good too. From what I've been hearing from the reviews it's like a gaming classic or something. The Last Guardian looks amazing too! But with all the delays and no news coming out for it I'm really starting to worry.

lol it does give off that vibe now that you mention it but this is like the only game that's come out recently that interests me in the slightest. I really want to give it a try when I get the $$$.

I've always loved playing alone. I guess because you don't have to worry about talking to another person or them talking to you (not in a social recluse type of way but just more like I need to concentrate type of thing). But when I go over to a friend's house I can stand playing a game with them but it's just it isn't my hobby anymore when I'm alone or whatever. I wish I could get back into gaming. It's always so much fun but maybe like said in some other's peoples posts I just can't find a good game?

Ive just gotten sick of spending 60 cash on 5 hours of entertainment that I wont even remember a week later. Ive spent 3000 cash in one night and had much more fun and had it been much MUCH more memorable years later.

O____o get Steam on your computer. You'll be able to spend $60 on a lot more than 1 game, and if you spent $3,000 you could have a good portion of their game library. XD

This has happened to me especially after I was at college and then graduated.

I used to play hours of gameplay but had to cut back on it....not to mention you find new interests. However, the culture of gaming has changed too. There used to be a time I would get a game for Christmas or a Birthday and then that would be my game for the next months until the next Holiday.

Today, there is an oversaturation of games, systems, pc games, social games and in order to be good at it you actually have to invest time especially if its online. In addition, putting hours into an RPG can be a bit difficult.

I also seem to be watching more anime as I love the stories and situations, but I do make some time to play certain games to try out genres and have fun with them (as long as there are save points). and YES Ni No Kuni looks beautiful...just waiting for my order to come in.

I've become weary of video games. Every now and then I'll use my portable systems when commuting to work, but that's about it. I don't have the time or energy to focus on home console or computer games.

I find it difficult to play games for Windows, when there's so many other things I could be doing with my PC. I know people like Steam. But I'm not interested in most of its software, and I don't like the idea of going online and logging in just to use a video game.

Aye, I guess. I just use it because I don't see the need to purchase a new console when I can just update this or that on my computer for relatively cheaply here and there, so it's just another thing I can have my computer do for me. And you don't have to go online to play a game through Steam, you just have to have the platform running, so that's nice ^__^ but what kind of games did/do you like if Steam's software doesn't interest you? O__o I only ask because it has a plethora of main-stream games and a whole load of awesome indie games.

It doesn't help that the quality of video games has decreased while the quantities continue to rise. I've not played a game for longer than the demo or tutorial lasts in a long time. The only game I'd even consider playing at the moment is probably Ni no Kuni.

Outside of that I'm waiting for games that I know for a fact I'll enjoy to come along, The Last of Us, Star Citizen, and Watchdogs. I think I've just become far more picky now that I'm no longer ok with dropping money on games to not play them(cheap steam games or not).

About 6 years ago I used to work in Gamestation (uk game store chain) and after long and stressful days, I didn't even want to see my games collection never mind play it. I think I just got so sick of hearing about it at work and the customer whining about us not having any Wii's or the right colour ds.

I happy to say once I left Gamestation after a couple of months I got right back in to gaming, so it's all good.

I've had something similar. Video games were all that I was interested in for the longest time. However going to college really changed things. Reality was just getting more stressful and I found myself less able to invest myself in a long game. Its kind of the reason Ive switched to having a 3DS and Vita. They are things I can pull out real quick and put down wherever I go. A console for me just felt like too much of a hassle considering all the stuff I have to do now a days. I guess it just happens to some people.

I tend to go through phases. I'll play console for 3-4 months, maybe longer depending on the games, then out of the blue I'll get dejected with it. Normally when this happens I start playing WoW for a few months until I get my desire to play again.

The only games I'd play were at an arcade, and " Klingon Academy by Interplay " but since then nothing.
