It eventually became a grandfathered part of the style over time, and now people do it for traditions sake.

The actual show is confusing as hell but I'm loving the artistic work and the overall look and feel of the anime.

DalekCaan 587 cr points Send Message: 23 / M Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 1/29/13 Sometimes it's to remind it is fictional i.e.. there's only so many natural hair colours & on top of that, the designs of hairstyle are mostly impossible to replicate and keep it all day let alone years like the characters do. It also offers a chance to make the characters physically different and not just their personality/actions. Especially when the cast grows into the dozens with each arc/season.
