Saying you like one or the other is not being shallow but rather stating a preference. Some people like chocolate icecream while others like vanilla. Liking one more than the other does not equate to thinking the other is bad. If having things you like over other things is shallow then we're all very shallow. Rather I think liking some things is part of what makes us all unique. I prefer yuri over yaoi but I don't think yoai is bad, it's just not for me....much the way vanilla icecream is not for me.

Balzack 5905 cr points Send Message: 28 / M / Washington State Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 2/2/13 What little Yaoi I've subjected myself to has been creepy and melodramatic, whereas any time I stumble into Yuri it's girls with innocent school-yard crushes on each other. Pretty much night and day. That being said I don't really like Yuri either for the most part. As a theme it usually becomes prevalent after the first couple of episodes (like Saki and Kanamemo) which I find kind of irritating because I get a little bit invested in an anime and suddenly everyone is a lesbian and that's all that anyone talks about for the rest of the series. I did like Yuruyuri though because I knew what I was getting into from the get go and it was more geared towards being genuinely hilarious than anything else.
