First off, I love CR. Hands down, my favorite anime site.

However, I won't be able to afford CR next month so I put my account on hold. I also recently paid (on the 14th). Now that I put my account on hold, I get screwed out of the rest of the month (which I paid for). Stuck with crappy resolutions and adds. C'mon CR... that's pretty bogus.

I feel like I'm not getting what I paid for and as the title says, pretty disappointed.

Contact the crunchy support team. They tend to sort these things out.. But in future please read the words before you cancel... Remember if your using debit/credit it says "cancel membership" which means cancel membership :), not cancel automatic renewal. If your planning to cancel in future contact crunchy support and ask. They have the power to stop the automatic renewal and leave you with the rest of your month

I did not click cancel membership. I clicked hold. Even if I did click cancel I would still expect to get the remainder of the time I paid for.

Thank you for your swift response and I'll contact them.

I didn't even know they had added a hold option.

But if you put an online streaming account on hold, wouldn't you expect it to be on hold starting at that point? Its for things like going on a vacation or long trip where you won't have regular WiFi access ... it would really suck to have the paid time keep ticking off while on vacation and then the hold start after you got back, just because that was when your membership renewal came up.

If you want to have the account run as normally but not renew, turn off the auto-renew. The resubscribe once you have the funds.

The point of a hold on an online streaming account is that when the hold is turned off, you still have the days that you paid for. I used to do that sometimes on Netflix when money was short ~ put it on hold for a couple of weeks to bump the renewal into the next payday, at a time when I knew I would be too busy to watch much Netflix anyway.

Straight out of the FAQ's.

http://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=premium_member#12

By putting your Premium Membership on hold, you are canceling your current membership and losing any remaining days for your membership but you get Star Membership for free, up to 3 months, which keeps all of the social features active. This includes a colored star next to your username, customizable wallpapers for your profile page, the ability to embed music on your profile and 1000 bonus CR Points every month. When you Membership Hold expires, your Premium Membership subscription will automatically renew and you'll once again have the full benefits which come with that Premium Membership package, unless you cancel the Membership Hold.

If you want me to cancel your hold and reactivate the remainder of your paid subscription, please let me know.
