I'm suprised that so many people have said they prefer the dubbed version of Haruhi over the subbed. For me both are equally good. Crispin Freeman is great but the same voice actor that does Gintoki does Kyon in the sub and is great as well. The rest of the dub cast was pretty good too.

Cowboy Bebop
Ghost in the shell(all of them)
Black Lagoon
Baccano!
Death Note

I tend to enjoy Ocean dubs and some funimation dubs but I tend to watch mostly subs.
I avoid Sentai dubs like the plague I cant forgive the Clannad dub.

I tend to like both subs and dubs for the most part ( Except for Sentai, it seems. TT__TT Every time I attempted their dubs, I had to switch it back to Japanese every now and then ). FUNimation has had some really nice ones lately. In fact, I loved what they did with Steins;Gate(which surprised me, considering how much I loved the Japanese voices) and Baccano! I also like the Solty Rei dub. Another dub I liked, non FUNimation, is Koi Kaze. Sometimes it's just beneficial to have a dubbed version that I like. Makes it easy to multitask and not worry about missing something. ^^;
Oh, and the Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal Alchemist dubs were also really well done. :3

Get back to me in 34 years and see if you have the same opinion. For that matter, you'll probably notice a change somewhere around the time you hit 40.

When I was your age, I was a faster reader than about 90% of the people around me. (I'll save the explanation for how I know that). I could read a book while watching a movie on TV and be able to tell you what happened in both afterward.

haha all right i'll see what happens in the years to come. Maybe i can just read more efficiently.
I still don't like dubs at the moment but i'll change my opinion on why people like em.

For me its Neon Genesis Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell. I never reallly liked subs over dubs until I had watched Gurren Laggann in Sub first, then the dub. Kamina seemed so much less cool and more corny in english.

I haven't watched a dub since Death Note, but I much rather subs, so I guess that's why. Can't think of one I'd rather dubbed because subs are always better in my opinion.

I agree original voice actors sometimes sound better too. I remember trying to watch Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny and a few Gundam series in english and most of the dub script wording wasn't even close compared to original sub'd dvd. Not to mention some of the redone songs had terrible voice actors/actresses that couldn't hold a note. Though understand some like listening vs reading.

@AsuraCryin:

Depends on the Gundam show you were watching actually. If it was 0083, the general consensus as a whole is that the dub was pretty bad. Same thing with Zeta (which had the OP replaced due to licensing issues.)

On Ikki Tousen, well, Dragon Destiny, iirc, wasn't a Geneon/Funi dub. It was a Media Blasters dub which tend to be hit or miss most of the time.

Black Butler! I don't think Ciel's voice could have fit more perfectly with his character and I felt like the original voices just couldn't compare. Not to mention, it was an English setting so Japanese clashes a little. lol
