Tons of bands through my past job where I worked as a security supervisor at a concert venue, and generally placed myself backstage.
Mostly rock/rap/techno stuff though, this city isn't known for other types of music.
But bigger names were Disturbed, Lil Wayne, Coheed & Cambria (Singer is the most self-absorbed person I've had the displeasure of meeting), Angels & Airwaves/Blink 182, Say Anything, Kesha, Avicii, DMX (One of the nicest people yet.), Skillet (#1 nicest band ever, invited me to eat dinner with them as well). Papa Roach (Jerk singer.), Agonist
List goes on, but those were the more memorable ones, good reasons & bad.

I was a workstudy at my university, and had something to deliver to a robotics lab. When I opened the door, I saw Alan Alda there doing a piece for Scientific American Frontiers. I didn't say anything to him, but it was definitely cool. Also, Steven Hawkings came to speak at our university. I slept through part of his general lecture. :/ Steven Spielberg gave a speech at my university too.

I met Muhammed Ali as a child. He actually picked me up and held me for a good while. I remember that he smelled really good and was a very nice person to everyone around him. It was the most coolest experience I've ever had. My parents even have pictures of us together. I really should get my hands on one! I also met former President Clinton when I was in the second grade. He knelt beside me for the picture and asked me if I liked school. He was also very nice.

I met Bruce Campbell when I was at a gas station in Jackson Oregon. Apparently he has a house there. I was buying a pack of smokes while wearing my favorite shirt of all time, " Army of Darkness ". This voice says, nice shirt, that was a fun movie to be apart of. Turn around and it's the main man, the hero of the movie. It was awesome.

I've met Fred Dibnah (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Dibnah), he may not be that famous but at least he was famous because of a useful skill.
I also met an actor who's name I cannot remember who played someone who's name I also cannot remember from a soap opera I neither watch nor like.

DJ Tiesto
LL Cool Jay

I met Chuck Norris when he came to my belt ceremony to give each of us our belts individually and shake our hands. I've also "met" Travie McCoy. I got wrapped up in one of his sweaty group hugs at a GCHs concert. Oh and I met Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James when they were out promoting "Terriers". Other than that, I was inches away from Tim Gunn, but my camera was terrible, so the picture never came out well. And I was close to meeting Kelly Hu but was too busy to go do so (even though she was only a few feet away; duty calls). That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I met Patrick Swasye when he was filming Dirty Dancing in Lake Lure, NC. He was a really nice guy to me. But he WAS a bit on the sloshed side. Buit he was still a nice guy. He told me about a new film he was going to start on after Dirty Dancing called Steel Dawn. I have a thing about post-apocalyptic movies.
