Marchioness Crunchyroll
|
Hey guys, it's another day, another catalog title coming your way here at Curnchyroll! This time, we have the supernatural comedy series, Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up!
![]() Ghastly Pirnce Enma Burning Up will be available to Crunchyroll audiences in the US and Canada, starting TODAY, January 30, 2013 at 5:00pm PST! Premium users will be able to watch the whole series right away, while free users can catch the first 2 episodes today, with the rest of the episodes being released each week 2 episodes at a time. The original manga was by Go Nagai, the man behind other famous hits such as Cutie Honey, Devilman, and Mazinger Z, to name a few, so if you're a fan of those works, be sure to check out Ghastly Prince Enma as well! Synopsis from NIS America: Meet the Demon Patrol: a hotheaded demon prince; a sultry, half-naked ice princess; a lusty frog-demon spy; a talking wizard hat... Plus a little girl shows up. This rag-tag group has been charged with the protection of Earth from a multitude of demons who would love nothing more than to bring their world crashing down around them. They'll face off against a vengeful squid, a somnambulant kittycat, a pot full of snakes, a night-stalking deciduous, a hater of crotches, and even a literal butthead! Descend into an unreality filled with pratfalls, lewd behavior, and enough obscure cultural jetsam to drown us all! Don't forget to check back to Crunchyroll as we continue to announce new catalog titles this week! 1/29 - Arakawa Under the Bridge 1/30 - Ghastly Prince Enma Burning Up 1/31 - ?? 2/1 - ?? 2/1 - ?? |

Seems like so much of the catalogue is US Canada only, is Europe really that much harder to get the licenses for when it comes to older series?

NIS America only has North American rights for this(and in media markets North America means U.S and Canada). Crunchyroll doesn't seem to have the kind of relationship with UK licensors to get UK rights for catalog titles. That could change some day. Perhaps if Manga UK or one of them get enough people to ask them to do a package deal for a bunch of titles that they'd have the UK rights to, you'd see Crunchyroll expand its back catalog to those in the UK. Similarly, for those in Australia and New Zealand, Hanabee or somebody else would have to work something out with Crunchyroll to get more catalog titles to those in Australia and New Zealand. |

It appears to be licensed by Nozomi Entertainment, and they have their own YouTube channel for streaming: http://www.youtube.com/show/junjoromantica |

One of the reasons I cancelled my subscription was because of things like this. I do not blame CR I believe they're doing the best they can, but when they released Pandora Hearts it just broke my spirit that I couldn't watch it here in Sweden.

I really like all these NIS titles getting added to CR's catalog, they usually pick up some of the shows I liked the best.
Arakawa is an excellent show and I really liked Enma as well. |

So far behind on anime... need to catch up

After checking MAL and TV Tropes to get a better idea of what kind of series this is, I have decided to add this to my queue. Go Nagai + ecchi comedy = WIN
Looks like I may have to look at buying the Standard Edition of this from NIS America(and the Standard version was released yesterday). Much thanks to NISA for adding this(I already plan on buying the Premium boxes for Hanasaku Iroha when they come out[April is going to be brutal on my wallet] and NIS America is rapidly becoming one of my favorite anime companies along with Sentai). |
