Idaho is so beautiful, although is it still covered in snow at this time of year? Seems like a great cozy reason for settling down with some anime.
Its gotten a bit of snow here and there but its mostly clear now. The flurries were so small that they were melted away not long after they ended. I guess there was a bit more snow up here in the weeks prior to the move and I did see a few piles of collected snow in parking lots teh first few days I was up here. Its still pretty cold generally but we've gotten a few warmer days.

Watching anime is nice though for a good break from trying to get the place in order. Too bad the internet providers up here are kind of shoddy. I can stream stuff okayish during oddball hours, albeit at a lower quality than I'm used to( no big deal to me there though as long as I can actually watch it), but during peak hours the networks are so congested that I get like .5 mbps download which is barely enough to browse web pages let alone actually use the net for gaming or watching stuff.

I have two 1:3 scale bjds, one of which I did entirely; the other is getting some editing. The first, Evelyn, is shown in my profile photo. I have a number of 1:6 scale dolls in progress that are from Anime sources. I think I have Jiraiya pics posted in my profile here. I use articulated bodies on the smaller dolls: Cy Girls, Action Figures, Volks bjds. I have one Inuyasha with a Barbie head and another with the Volks Anime head, which has come to a standstill until I locate the ears I made for that one. . . .

I added a few photos to my account here.

I do have a variety of pics on flickr, under AliMcJ also.

Generally speaking dolls creep me the hell out, but I do appreciate the work you put into them. That charm bracelet(or bracelets not sure if there are two or just two shots from opposing sides.) is cool though. Did you make those bracelets yourself?

Yeah, as long as I can still watch something I can put up with a lot of fluctuation in streaming quality. But a few weeks ago I was streaming something, the original Transformers cartoon I think, and I actually got a message on the screen that the internet speed was so slow that quality would be compromised and they recommended I try again later. I guess the website was pretty conscientious!

Anyway, I still love Transformers but it sure had many cheesy moments and bad animation consistency, like the Autobot decals kept changing colors or disappeared altogether from scene to scene. I pretend it adds to the charm and nostalgia.

Lol 80's cartoons are always fun. Alot of times its the cheesiness that makes them entertaining.

I checked out your photos and they're awesome. I love Jiraiya (sob)! I love the way you did Evelyn. I don't know much about all the different types of dolls and different studios but I checked out Volks because of your post and they have some very nice models. Right now I'm focusing on Immortality of Soul dolls. I don't think I will be attempting my own face-ups any time soon...actually, probably never. I really admire those who have the creativity and talent to do their own doll makeup and clothes and swap out eyes and hair and all that.

You know, they are creepy but I think that's part of the appeal, at least for me. I never really "played" with dolls but I just like looking at certain kinds, especially groups of certain kinds because they're so creepy and surreal. I think if I had a collection I would keep them in a glass cabinet to keep the dust off...and, um, perhaps as a psychological barrier against the creepiness.

I too want to say thanks for this group. Being an old..er..anime fan sometimes is very lonely. There is no one to talk to about your passion.

For me it's even worse..I'm an older anime fan girl. For me, yaoi is like a pleasant word sent from heaven. Unfortunately, as a fan girl, I have to find most of my "entertainment" in manga. As far as I know, there hasn't been a new anime yaoi release in some time..with the exception of Ai No Kusabi...which I have to add, the remake is not even close to being as good as the original.

Anyway...suffice to say I am over 30 and have been for some time. I have only been watching anime for about 6 years give or take. What saddens me is that it took so long for me to discover it. There is a lot of anime I missed...my mission is to buy as many Geneon titles as I can afford. I still feel sorrow over having missed out on Descendants of Darkness. Maybe, someday I can add it to my collection.

As for genre of anime I like most except for hentai, yuri, ecchi and I hate anything moe. Although...sometimes I have liked an anime that has been classified as ecchi.

I thought I saw Descendants of Darkness on Netflix streaming.

Hey, thanks for the info, but I don't get Netflix. (sob) My son does so maybe...I'll ask him about it. I still wish it would get a re-release. I'd buy it for sure, well as long as the quality is still the same, and they don't go messing with perfection.

The last time I saw Descendants of Darkness it was on Hulu, so it might still be there if you don't want to wait for your son's Netflix. I wish they would re-release it also, although I might just buy the old release one of these days. With certain anime and manga, I've been feeling more and more that if I don't get things when I see them, it becomes ridiculous searching for them and paying for them when they're out-of-print. Of course, sometimes I get burned when I pay oodles for something that was momentarilly hard to find, then they re-release it with better quality and a more reasonable price. I'm looking at you, Hellsing (and Hellsing Ultimate).

Whats up Ladies and Gentlemen. My name is David and I am addicted to anime. It has been 10 min since my last anime fix. Akira started me off, then urotsukidoji legend of the overfiend, Berserk, then it got worse: Slayers, Bastard!!, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, the old school Transformer series, G.I. joe series. , the list goes on and on. Hell I even sat through Ranma 1/2.

I saw this group after I was checking out Moneygrip's hip hop group, (Hip hop being another addiction of mine) I thought I would throw out this introduction to say whats up and feel free to Shoo the Shit about any anime or topic in general.....Peace.

Oh, wow, I've seen all those you listed. I'm kind of a slow watcher so with most lists I see it's more like, oh, it's still waiting on my queue. What nostalgia. It's been a whlie since I've heard someone mention Urotsukidoji and Bastard!!. I have the latter on DVD and will pop it in now and then for the rock and roll music and Dark Schneider's...way of being. He's just one of those types of protagonists.

I was a latecomer to Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop, having only watched them within the last two years or so. Was blown away, they're so good. Space westerns is one of my most favorite of genres. I think I might be blasphemous in saying that although Cowboy Bebop was way more polished and considered in many circles to be just about perfect, there's a special place in my heart for Outlaw Star despite its clumsier execution. Like an intellectual reaction versus a visceral one. I liked the caster guns and ammunition.

Yeah my wife and I both love Bastard!!(She got me into it. She also collects the manga.) Haven't watched it in a while myself, so I'll have to pop it in again. You just can't help but like Dark Schneider because hes such an over the top arrogant douchebag, rather than in spite of it.

Oh, that's so cool that she has the manga! Yeah, Dark Schneider is just hot sleaze. The first time I watched it was so long ago that all I remembered was the music, the heavy metal spell names, and something about his elfen daughter who becomes his lover. When I watched it again later it all came flooding back. He's such a sleaze! But you just have to root for him.

flashersmurf..lol, I feel the same about Disney, my granddaughter had a Disney Princess dvd someone gave her and I trashed it. Well, in the spirit of being green I gave it away to the goodwill. But Disney is VERBOTEN in my house.
Anyway, she has been over Disney for a long time, ..right now she is into Hetalia, I can't seem to get into that anime, but she is all about Hetalia.

I thought I was the only one who forbade all things Disney in my house. It's not too hard to do though, seeing that all my kids are boys. We once got some kiddie Disney movies from some relative Disney addicts.....I donated them to charity.
