I like to watching this but there's no English subtitling for deaf people... I might skip it.

There isn't any dialogue, just visual cues so you're fine. My little brother's deaf too so that's the first thing I pay attention to before I recommend anything to him.

agila61 wrote:"Its unfair that Crunchyroll picked up a catalog title that people outside North America can actually watch" ~ that makes no sense at all.

I think you misunderstood the context of what I said. What I meant was, it's unfair that CR picked up a title (catalog or not) that, besides not being an anime, also has content that some people (North American or not) might not go for. It had nothing to do with geo-blocking or anything like that.

Its impossible to be unfair "in general" ~ if something is unfair, it has to be unfair TO SOMEBODY.

But how can it be unfair to somebody, when nobody lost anything at all as a result of the title getting picked up? Its not like picking this title up meant there is some other title that was turned down: not picking up this title would just mean this title wouldn't be there.

So your argument has to be about how the mere existence of this title on the site is being "unfair" to anybody, when zero people lost anything as a result of the title getting picked up.

I can't believe some of the people in this thread. Seriously, are people here so closed minded when Crunchyroll tries to expand their services not to just Japanese cartoons and general animation, but Eastern and Western animation, people complain?

I think it's fantastic that they're willing to do this, especially if this could mean seeing subtitles of European cartoons that could not get licensed or released over here for one reason or another. In fact, I had hoped that Crunchyroll would eventually try expanding out to other western properties for streaming on here.

i for 1 think this is a nice addition to crunchyroll even though its not anime

people complaining its not anime related are forgetting people also come here for the community forum which feature manga, games, anime and alot of general stuff that also isnt related to anime should that be stoped aswell? i mean who cares about things like types of bra or if guys on here are horny etc... or meeting people from around the world with simular interests. its not like its forcing you to watch it before anime, if you dont like it leave it!

good on you crunchyroll for broaderning your horizons and doing something that maybe some of us hadnt heard of before but may find somthing new they like thankyou

@ChibiGoku: The problem is that the acquisition itself is both subversive and derivative, and if it keeps up (i.e., if they start getting more like this), it could open the door to even more subversions (not to mention compromises), until eventually, the site wouldn't even feel like Crunchyroll anymore. Closed minded? With all due respect I think some of us are being smart. The last thing many of us want is for Crunchyroll to become just another general entertainment website that subverts it's own identity and purpose just because they want to try something "different". As I said before, this new acquisition is too different. Crunchyroll doesn't need to become another [adult swim] or anything like that. It needs to keep being Crunchyroll, a website for legally streaming anime (and yes, Asian drama).*

*While drama (let alone k- or j-drama) isn't my cup of tea, I would like to see CR get some Japanese tokusatsu shows if they (and not just stuff like Ultraman either). I've noticed that they have some j-music on here as well (e.g., Morning Musume), which I guess is okay, but this particular acquisition (Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Animation) is unacceptable, IMHO.

@bossknows: As I said in a previous post, the "if you don't like it, don't watch it" explanation isn't the point, especially since it could also apply to the some of the anime and drama already on here. It's the principle of the thing. Also, this has nothing to do with the community forums. Yes, there are general discussion topics and stuff, but some of us don't come here to post in the forums (although I do check them out every once in a while). Some of us are just here for the anime and drama (and some of the j-music that's also on here).

Not as thrilled as I am with the actual Anime additions. Would prefer something else, honestly.

I love this so much! Spike and Mike and the animation show were what proved to me animation was serious art and serious fun at the same time. Twisted perhaps but so culturally important. I'm so happy I'm beside myself! This will give a whole new audience for this amazing films!

Hopefully it didn't set Crunchyroll back too much because all of these videos can be found on Youtube.

All anime streamings can be found free online...

I think he means that these cartoons have their own OFFICIAL channel on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/user/SpikeAndMikeHD

So you're basically paying your subscription for free online videos.

And these videos aren't even made by Spike and Mike's. They're just recopilations of old videos they find.

Who cares if it's not anime, if you dont like it then dont watch it.
I doubt it set CR back much since they're on youtube so it is not hurting anything.
