I know! I was disappointed they didn't get the YTV drama "Poison" (Doku) in the fall. My Little Nightmare wasn't quite my cup of tea while the YTV mystery theatre dramas were really good. I got an all access membership through the Black Friday Deal for less than an anime membership so it is OK that there is no drama I guess but I feel bad for people who might have a drama only membership. All they got in winter was a few documentaries and a pink movie... Come on Crunchy, through drama fans a bone or two ! Please!

Crunchyroll probably hasn't built up as good of a relationship with the drama production companies as they have with the anime producers.

Don't quote me on this, but I remember a post sometime last year saying that the drama companies have not jumped on board the "streaming bandwagon" and are hesitant to air their shows outside of TV broadcasts.

That's why I mentioned the YTV Dramas as they already had a relationship with that company as they had shown a few Mystery Theater shows in a row. Wonder why it lapsed? My Little Nightmare / Akumuchan was different but I had hoped it was also a multiple season order and yet come winter... No show from either source.

If the drama companies did a google search they would find their stuff IS being streamed, just without any license revenue for them...

Crunchyroll still has a drama only membership but I don't know why anyone would subscribe.

Speculation: The streaming results may have not been as expected, either making it financially untenable for CR to renew the agreement, or the licensor may have declined to do so. It may even be that CR crawled a bit out on a limb (i.e, put up a somewhat larger MG than current viewership might justify), but didn't see the drama or all-access subscription increase they had hoped for.

I think dramas may be in the same type catch-22 situation as anime licensing for some regions: Simulcasts are lacking, so people don't subscribe or drop subscriptions, and due to lack of revenue, CR can't afford the simulcasts.
