Why the saddest? The main characters mom died trying to save a child that was about to be ran over by a train. Later the boy meets a girl of a disgraceful family. Because the village did not want the main character to date this girl they told him that her family killed her mom. The main character goes into a coma and eventually wakes up, but still is delusional. The doctor said if he is brought back to Tokyo (where his mom died) he would have a chance to recover and come back to reality. On the way there with the girl there is a train about to pass by. Before the train passes by she gives the main character a motivating speech. As this is happening a little boy loses his ball and it rolls on the train track while the train is almost there. The main character is just a little late coming back to reality after the speech because right after the girl gives the speech she notices the boy and tries to save him, but gets hit by the train and dies just like the main characters mom. The main character comes back to reality just in time to see it happen...
