Something I slightly don't like about Blast Of Tempest
|
I just got into this Anime last night, and I think it's amazing! I haven't read the Manga, so I don't know what happens in the future of the show, but this is one thing that slightly turns me off. I don't like how the only way to activate powers is by using talismans. I'm hoping that later on in the Anime, Hakaze teaches Mariho and Yoshino how to use the powers with will. No talismans, no nothing. Just activating the powers from within. I just don't like the idea of having "temporary powers" that anyone can use just by putting on a talisman. I just hope Hakaze trains them later on and teaches them how to harness these powers.. I think there is a lot of potential for them to develop their own powers or something.. Does anything like that happen later in the manga?..

Why would you want it to be like every other shounen manga?

zetsuen no tempest isn't shonen. also, it's explained quite clearly that only the Kusaribe tribe, or the mage of exodus can use magic without talismans.

I see.. Well still personally, I would still like to see Hakaze teach them how to harness their powers and learn to use the magic willingly..

Yeah, but they're going to have to run out of talismans at one point or another, aren't they? They always seem to have an endless supply.

I think Blast of the tempest is boring. It was interesting at first but afterwards it got repetitve. Its soo slow paced and soo many talking. No kidding most of the episodes, they're barely making any movements. I dropped it when i got to episode 14. I mean.... Bakemonogatari and nisemonogatari just had talking but it was good.

The one thing I really don't seem to like about Tempest is the fact that everybody in the show uses magic. Everybody who puts on a talisman gains the exact same abilities. Teleporting, High Speed, Defensive Capablities, Shields, etc.
Everybody does the exact same stuff. There aren't any fair fights at all because everybody fights using the same abilities. If two people who use magic fight, the only one who will be victorious is the one who can maintain their talismans long enough. That's just, I don't like that at all. Characters should have different abilities and fighting styles. But everybody fights the same. Everybody has the same defensive abilities, speed, etc. It's just no diversity at all. I want to continue watching this anime, but I'm having a hard time taking it seriously because of how flawed the powers are.. It just bothers me too much. When Mahiro originally appeared in episode 1, he came out of nowhere, like a complete bad-ass with teleporting abilities and crazy high-speed movements. Then later on, you learn that EVERYBODY else can do the EXACT same thing as him I thought his powers were unique and they should have been, but everybody else can do them as long as they have access to these "talismans". That just ruins it for me. I don't know if it's worth to continue watching the Anime. Don't get me wrong. Tempest is absolutely incredible, but that one flaw is really making it hard for me to continue watching it. Because as I watch it, I'm always thinking in the back of my head what the Anime COULD have been like.. |

that's because they're not the character's powers, they're the tree's powers.

Wait wait wait wait So you're telling me it's not a fair fight when they use the same powers? So what you're saying is. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide That isn't fair? |

I wish that those powers that Hakaze gave to Mahiro were unique. But turns out that every other villain or character is able to use the exact same abilities as him. I wish his powers could have been one of a kind and it would have made things more interesting. Then maybe later on, Yoshino could have unlocked his own unique abilities as well, that were totally independent and unique to him. Oh well, what can I do. |
