The most realistic anime I've watched has to be Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

Puni Puni Poemy. I want to be a self proclaimed voice actor/dead fish wand wielding protector of the earth magical girl when I grow up. Fighting aliens and witches and all sorts of afro bastards in the process.

Of Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren or Diebuster quality? Fun fact, but the Dai-Gurren design is a throw-back tribute to Aim for the Top 2!'s Diebuster machine, along with the bad-assery arm folding.

Are we talking looks realistic or story is realistic, If we are talking story then anyone who reads this and hasn't seen the movie imo is missing out. And the movie is Grave Of the FIreflies. Beautiful story taking place in ww2 japan about a brother and a sister can't get more real then that.

The end result sure is more realistic than 90% of harem/school life anime, extreme though it may be.

The first one that comes to mind is Usagi Drop.
It's pretty slow paced and touches a lot on what to expect in parenthood.
