Its very unfortunate when the bar you set is "generic but enjoyable robot anime" and the show doesn't even measure up to that. It kind of had the same weird, awkward jokes and moments like in the first episode of Lucky Star. But bad. It wasn't even marginally amusing/bewildering like Lucky Star was until later on.... moe jokes.... sigh...
