That's a nice quote for all the people who keep hating on other opinions.. :D In my opinion, Naruto Shippuden is slowly becoming just a big, overrated drag. Although they may be trying hard to make it as fun as possible for the fans, I've gradually just come to accept that NS is just a shadow of what it used to be.. Same for One Piece. The first 100 episodes or so were fantastic.. moved me to tears and all (same for the first Naruto), but it has also just become something dry. |

I for one thought SAO wasnt half bad. You just proved my point. The hatred you (and I) have for Twilight is disproportionate to the book's actual quality. It's not a good book by any stretch of the imagination, but it's not the worst book of all time. It wasn't even the worst book of the year. It wasn't even the worst book put out by that particular publishing company that year. I can't actually tell you what the worse books are, but statistically speaking, they must exist. In the same way, SAO wasn't the worst anime of 2012. I don't think I watched any worse anime - except maybe K (although I haven't finished it yet) and possibly Code:Breaker - but you know all those shows your eyes automatically skip over when you're looking for something new to watch? Those were worse. What sets SAO apart, and what sets Twilight apart, is that they were popular. And now you've learned a valuable lesson about human psychology. aidenraine wrote: can I put the swimming anime CM as the newest most overrated anime, even if it's just a 30 second CM, and will never be an anime? NO SWIMMING ANIME IS THE GREATEST ANIME OF ALL TIME IT HAS NO FLAWS THE PLOT THE CHARACTERS THE MUSIC IT IS ALL SO PERFECT I LAUGHED I CRIED I LOST TEN POUNDS IT WAS PERFECT HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT New swimming anime is boss! IT MOTIVATES ME TO WORK OUT!! ANNNNNNNNNNNND I can see why girls love it ._. |

WHAT?! So not true.
I mean I don't watch One Piece anymore but I don't think it's overrated. The big 3 have been around for a long time now and have earned their many MANY fans world wide and I think they deserve it being put on air week after week. Dare I say I even appreciate the fillers when they run out of ideas for a while. Lol Btw: Bleach is DEFINTELY not overrated. |

I was with you with the Code Geass but Fairy Tail? Try watching the anime again. Try watching at least the first 10 eps and then tell me what you think. |

Mm, One Piece might be up there as the most overrated yet still enjoyable series. Things like Fairy Tail boggle my mind as to how people can think so highly of such hogwash. Reborn! was also highly overrated. Can't really think of many series at this time.

SAO and Code Geass.
The first arc of SAO had plenty of problems, but it was still enjoyable. Alfheim Online on the other hand... Poorly written plot. Unnecessary incestuous romance subplot One dimensional big bad Very disappointing climax Undoes two of the deaths in the first arc, rendering them meaningless Practically like a fix fic And so on NovaPK wrote: I think anyone who says SAO in this thread didn't read the light novels, and is only saying it's bad because of all the cuts that were made to fit the first two arcs into an anime. I'm fully aware that this thread says "Most overrated ANIME", but I've seen that SAO has gotten a cult following of hate on this forum, and I'm actually positive that none of the bandwagon "I HATE SAO" people never even tried the light novels. Until you do, your opinion is entirely irrelevant, because you don't know the real story of SAO, at all. I know that the first arc was rearranged for the anime, but how much could've possibly been changed for Alfheim Online? Are you saying that they cut out more than half of Alfheim Online and only gave us the bare bones minimum needed to resemble the plot? Do the light novels give Sugou depth which he completely lacked in the anime? Is the climax more than simply Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Kirito defeating and utterly tearing Sugou to shreds the moment he gains the upper hand (which was basically handed to him on a silver platter out of nowhere)? Just because I haven't read the light novels does not make my argument completely irrelevant. The typical light novel volume translates to approximately 3-5 episodes, right? Alfheim Online was 11 episodes long in the anime which is definitely enough room for a two volume arc. As for Code Geass, I only saw the first four episodes and I was mocking most of it with absolutely no plans to continue. On a side note, why do I see some lesser known titles get thrown around? Doesn't a work have to be quite popular to be considered overrated? (ex.: Saki was only moderately successful from the sales numbers I've seen, but then again, there was the whole Zerg Rush in last year's Japanese Saimoe...) |
