Watching anime! Its quicker, in color, and has music and voice actors to bring the work to life. Still love manga though!

I like reading manga... no fillers! Plus you get the real story as the manga-ka intended it to be. However, I still really love watching anime!!

Manga I guess would be the one I prefer since its easier to multi-task (usually one window with mmo other with manga) with it than anime. Not to mention a lot of the manga I love don't have anime. Both have things you can enjoy and both have things you may not so I guess just comes down to personal taste

Anime is my preferred choice simply because it gives an establishment in your mind of the voices, the sounds and scenes move more naturally.

I still love manga, I find some scenes are more epic with black/white/grey. Though I find it sometimes moves far too fast to enjoy the fights, dramatic scenes. Though anime can be just the same. Especially if it's filler, that gets retcon to the continuity, or very poor animation for certain scenes.

I couldnt agree with you more, especially the part about manga sometimes moving to fast during action scenes.

You mentioned sounds, but not the music. When the music(soundtrack) is really good, i enjoy the anime more. And it helps set the mood, don't you agree?

dacan13.

I was being general about sound. It included music and sound effects. Sorry for not explaining that.

I do agree with you, the soundtrack and the sounds used for effects help give the mood. Bleach's soundtrack for the arrancar/aizen invasion arc was beautiful, creepy, sad and intense. It hit everything that was needed for that portion of the story.

I always prefer the original light novel or manga ... but, it is so great to see and hear it come to life in anime with great theme songs, wonderful seiyuu. So really I say both!

Anime for all the reasons already listed above. Plus, can just sit back and relax. No page turning or clicking, if it's online.

Couldn't be bothered with manga, so even if something is missing in the anime, it really doesn't matter. You can't miss something if you don't know it's there in the 1st place. Makes life simpler without being aggravated over missing scenes, arcs, etc.

I'm kinda reiterating what many people have said here, but I prefer reading the manga (it's the story as the manga-ka intended it) and I will almost always read a manga before watching the corresponding anime (not to mention that sometimes, the stories I like reading don't have anime). However I do really like watching anime, majorly for the soundtracks. There's some really epic music out there!

(sometimes I like the music so much I'll find sheet music and play it on the piano - that happened with the Fairy Tail main theme, Brothers from FMA, Legend of Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke, and the Requiem from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind)

Anime for sure, but I miss the days of Jump being in print in the US.
