I can't think of a single case where the anime that's based on a manga was better then the manga, or light novel, or ect... |

Like you I prefer anime over manga (simply because it's moving and there are voice actors to go with the characters and all) but reading manga is leaps and bounds faster than watching the same anime series. In the time it takes to watch a normal episode I'm sure anyone would be able to finish at least 3 chapters of that same manga. Sometimes I go to the manga so that way I can get through the story and find out things faster, although I make sure to watch the anime later of course. |

I don't really read manga, but I do read a lot of books, none of which have spawned anime. If manga is at all comparable to books, then I would say it's a tie. The only thing that anime wins out on is sound, but that's a huge win. A great soundtrack can make a huge difference in a scene, and I've found awesome music to be a big part of my enjoyment. Not to mention that a great actor/VA can also make a scene better than in a text. I might have added visuals for book comparison, but manga sort of has that, so I just won't comment on visuals.

When I said quicker I meant to say easier for me to get through. I love manga but reading on a web browser is frustrating at times for me. Its easier for me to marathon an anime than get through 150 manga chapters on a web browser. |

Chrono Crusade comes to mind. But how many manga based on anime are better?? None I can think of. Probably cause the originals ussually best. |

I wish I could say I enjoy both, but I never really have time or money for manga. Doesn't help a lot of manga I am really interested in aren't available in English.
Overall, I kind of prefer animation just as a personal preference; I prefer watching something happen to reading it, and love how animation can make use of sound and visuals to tell a story. I also really enjoy adaptions. I hope to find some time to get into manga someday, though. |
