Didn't come to a complete stop before turning right at a red. Insta-fail.

Passed the evaluation test that let me skip the classroom part and just had to log like 4 hours driving with the instructor over the summer. Passed the DMV test in an 86' Olds Cutlass the day I turned sixteen.
on a side note that passenger side brake really started to make me angry |

I didn't get mine until my Junior year. I failed 5 times, and gave up. I didn't really care, until my friends were all driving around in their cars. SO I got my permit over the summer. Took me 2 more times, but it was FINALLY worth it.

OFF ON VACATION. Wont be back until the middle of June or something like that.

my embarassing story was that i passed on the first test only because the tester was texting the whole time. i was completely nervous and nearly crash 3 times in a course of 5 minutes.
just focus of the driving, i got a cuzzin that failed so many times that she had to retake the written exam a couple of time just of she kept worrying about what the examiner kept telling her. but passed once she stopped caring. and at the time she passed, i can vouch cuz i kinda helped her learn. she was worse and the last time she take a test for a over a year. |

I failed twice, third luck was my charm.
My first one, I failed because this damn car sent by some damned devil was driving up from behind (which was SUPPOSED to be EMPTY most of the time) and he slowed down to let me get off the curb since my car was on (was in the process of testing parking beside a curb) so I stepped on the gas. Dang redneck driver tester claimed that I didn't look in my rear view mirror to give the driver sent by the devil the right a way, which I did. Second time, lady drove me up to some ancient forked road which was really confusing (I don't even think she was supposed to take me there) and I went into the wrong split road. Third time, I got someone sane. |

At least she's able to take the test at all. I've been legally blind since birth, so it's never even been an option for me, and most likely never will.

Wow, that sounds really terrible.. Is this type of vision problem not correctable with contacts and glasses? My glasses can correct some of it, but I can't read street signs from beyond 15-18 feet away, and my reaction time for focusing on anything at a distance is poor enough to be very hazardous. Without glasses, I can't discern faces from beyond about two feet away. I still manage to play video games regularly, and watch copious amounts of anime (sitting really close helps,) plus work on the board game I'm developing...but driving's neither wise nor viable. |

I had a great instructor although he was very harsh on the parallel parking :3 I passed my first time but barely xD Anyhoot, it is expected to fail the first time since MOST of my friends failed the first time! Also remind her to always pay attention during a 4 way intersection
They got me good for not paying attetnion on that one. |

it took me 3 times to pass the written and once to pass the driving test. Just get some more practice in, it can't hurt, you'll even do better the next time you take it!

never failed it heck i have been driving since i was 13 (supervised of course but) i had a car before i even had a license. i would take my car to go to drivers ED... and all the instructors said i was a great driver. which might not be fair since my father taught me how to drive since i was 12-13. and some people have never had that chance or wanted to do it in the first place.
you would be surprised how many people dont have a driver license or own a car in big cities that have good or fairly good public transportation like subways or trains and the like. NYC is an example of said cities. not many people want to own a car in NYC. not to mention having a car is more trouble than not having one. finding parking for said car can be even more expensive than the car payment or your rent in NYC |

I failed three times before finally passing.

Failed once, the examiner insisted that by lane changing at the same time as the guy behind me that I was cutting him off and terminated the test. Still don't get why.

I didn't fail, therefore I have no words of empathy.
