The fact that Ecchi, Harem, Yuri/Yaoi, and Hentai are on here is expected. So much hate for them that they don't come as a surprise to me when they appear on these types of threads.

But Mecha?! Now that's a surprise. Can anyone tell me what you don't like about them. I'm just curious as to the reason, really.

For me, its shows with sad endings and sad shows in general. Too depressing for me. I like my laughs and action. Fanservice is always a plus, too.

People fighting in robots just doesn't appeal to me. I can't seem to find an interest in it.

I like mecha; gundam is my favorite, but gundam AGE was a disgrace. The main character is full of revenge, his son acts like a warmonger, and when the story come to his grandson, I thought I was watching Digimon.

You should at least give Evangelion a shot - I mean they aren't even fighting in robots. The only real robot in that show was Jet Alone and his 23 minutes of fame was him going nuts and threatening to nuke a whole area if he wasn't stopped. Not to mention the only thing it was good for was looking ugly and walking like an Oompa Loompa.

I've Evangelion it's alright. The genre of Mecha as a whole I'm not into. I would still watch a show if it was but if I had to chose a type to always watch a Mecha wouldn't be on the list.

I see, you ever see RideBack? That's a good show - not really sure if it fits in the Mecha genre or not. Would transforming motorcycles count as Mecha?

It was in the top anime/big 3 for a while back then, a few of my female friends were like OH OH YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT..

http://www.crunchyroll.com/shugo-chara

I'm sure it's a great anime and all, but the style and etc. are wayyyyyyyy off for me.

I can't watch some mecha, yaoi disturbs me since I'm a guy, yuri is slightly repulsive but I don't particularly care too much, and ecchi is too graphic and breaks the flow of any plot it could have hoped to have (considering my limited experience in that field I don't know if there are good ones).

Harems can be good if it is a subgenre, and the plot doesn't revolve around just a simple harem with predictable situations. Technically SAO is a harem, for example. Magical girls don't float my boat, the exception obviously being Madoka since it is phenominally non-stereotypical.

Aside from that, I think I regularly like everything else. There are always exceptions though.

Mmmm I think I enjoy more or less every type of anime. Like most other guys, the yaoi doesn't fare well with me though. Aside from that, I'm fine with harems, ecchi, etc. never really developed a distaste for that stuff so I just accept the anime for what it is.

I haven't watch much ecchi but I agree it does break away from whatever plot it was going for.

I would expect guys to be not as responsive to yaoi as probably a girl would.
