Yeah, the whole idea of two guys potentially "getting it on" tends to make most guys very uncomfortable. I would guess its similar to girls and yuri.

I absolutely despise sports manga/anime. Never understood why since I'm fine with series based around board games (Hikaru no Go or Saki, anyone?). Ah well. For those of you who don't care for mecha, try something like Code Geass. There's plenty of other material for folks who like slice-of-life/political/magical content, so the mechs--as cool as they are--are almost sidenotes.

Kind of true in my case, but probably for different reasons. I don't have a problem with homosexual relationshiop material at all, but it seems to me that yaoi seems to be dominated by works that seem to be catering to fujoshi fantasy of gay relationships more than anything, which to me comes across as very similar to the straight shoujo romance archetype of super passive bishoujo + obnoxiously agressive bishounen, just with two guys. So since I'm not really into S&M dominance romances to begin with coupled with the fact that the sex part of it is unappealing to me, I just don't have a lot of interest in the genre as a whole.

On the other hand when homosexuality and gender identity issues are portrayed as something other than wank material I enjoy them much more. Wandering Son is an excellent portrayal at gender identity issues among those coming of age, and Prunus Girl is a lighthearted story that asks he question of whether gender is important at all when it comes to love. Hell some people overlook the fact that Card Captor Sakura is primarliy about romantic love without boundaries of things like gender for the fact that it is on the surface a magical girl story. Strangely enough the reason I can watch/read yuri easier than yaoi is that yuri generally seems to be broader in scope and less about dominance porn, and not because I'm a guy.

Yaoi, for sure, though I don't mind BL. I also have a really hard time getting into Mecha, or those "slice of life" high school shows.

Really haven't seen any type that I wholeheartedly dislike -- I've seen something I like in probably every genre I've seen, but I do tend to like Yaoi/BL shows a bit less regularly though. But like any show, execution of the genre matters a lot more than the genre. My least favorite type of show is a shitty type of show, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

i'd have to say my least favorite is the big series things like Naruto. Of course that might just be because I would rather see shows I really liked (SAO for example) have 100-200+ episodes instead of just ~13-25 episodes.
Other than that I have so far seen something I liked and disliked in every genre, but I seem to watch the Slice of Life ones the most. Sometimes I hate that alot/most of them are Harem/Ecchi because they tend to make the Ecchi part of it atleast so outlandish and impossible it distracts from the plot. Harem parts im usually ok with because for me personally I never went through High School without at least 2-4 female friends that I hanged out with all the time around so it doesn't seem that strange.

ecchi, mecha, INCEST i hate incest soo much that i would rather watch ecchi and mecha for 7 days straight without break!!!!
i sometimes dislike harem... it depends on how the plot goes and what the character looks like

This! So much this! I'm not into yaoi or yuri because the stories are about gay people but rather that they aren't well written and archtypical in general. Same reason I avoid most shojo as well. I'd like well written romance in my anime that isn't too shojo but doesn't deolve into harem either. Sadly this is not easy

Harem and reverse harem shows. They just don't keep my interest.
