OK my ps3 broke yesterday, and i wanted to know if the ps4 is coming anytime soon, so i can figure out if I should wait and save 4 that, or bomb my cash on another ps3, because i shouldn't expect it any time soon?

It's been rumored that the release date will be given on February 20th so I'd wait for that.

Prices for the PS4 go from $400+ depending on how many gbs.

We haven't even gotten near to tapping into what the PS3 is capable of. There is no reason to make another console, except to top XBOX once again, as they struggle to comeback in the gaming market.

That being said, there are problems with the GPU manufacturer that's making the same chip for both the PS4 and new XBOX. It's been delayed and won't be ready for production until later this year(supposedly), so I'd suggest buying a used or refurbished PS3 and keep on gaming.

Btw, Microsoft will most likely be coming out with a hurried console first. They're borderline desperate.

If you still have your warranty, you can try to get your PlayStation repaired.

According to this article The price will range between $400-500 and games will still be $60. It states at the end of the article that they may reveal the release date and actual price some time within the month.

Given that a number of games have been rescheduled for mid-september(in fact all for around the same day) my guess would be October as the next gen console release month.

I'm curious as to where they're really going with this "streaming" function they spent an embarrassing amount on, so I have some (overly paranoia-fueled) questions...

Do they really actually intend for you to play games in roughly the same manner as Diablo 3?
When I think of "streaming," what comes to mind is literally having to maintain a constant internet connection to play a game offline, the neverending problem of game-fucking lag, and losing all progress and facing awful line-ups of people trying to "reconnect" to a game that shouldn't be online in the first place (single player mode). Am I greatly misinterpreting what "streaming" means in this case?

Losing connection is inevitable and if this over-exaggerated question actually warrants an honest "yes" courtesy of Sony, then they can fuck right off. That's not even the worst part of just how far greed has overtaken things completely, but it's a rocky start and a good way to convince me not to go anywhere near this new generation console trend.

They're most likely going to use it for streaming PS3 games since it won't be backwards compatible. Not ideal, but better than nothing.

PS4 might be released at Q4, this is based on web rumors, so I wouldn't trust it.

I recommend just sending your ps3 to sony for repairs
