Yep, one of the better Anime’s that have been produced, and like many have already posted, it was way too short, but at this quality, we are lucky to even get this!

Great choice, this series is a masterpiece, and the only real flaw that it has is that it's too short. It's a philosophical, artistic masterpiece that makes you think in addition to entertaining you. Don't get me wrong though, it's very entertaining to the point where it's riveting. Like I said in my review of this anime, THIS is the kind of anime I consider "adult". That is, filled with deep meaning, plot, characterization and nuance that takes a more adult mind to fully appreciate if you ask me. I don't mean adult in the sense that there's like 10 girls fighting over a guy in their swimsuits and/or underwear because he's meandering around being clueless, and doing nothing in particular. Not to say that there's anything wrong with guys being clueless or doing nothing, just that this series is very interesting and thought-provoking and worth watching.

There are a couple pleasant and fun surprises that can sneak up on you that you might not expect if you watch this anime. The plotting is clever, and not at all cliche.

It was absolutely amazing. I still have the files from back when you could download episodes for a dollar or two, back when crunchy was young haha. Definitely one of my ultra-favorites.

Time of Eve handles the Three Laws better than Isaac Asimov himself.

It is truly an anime master piece!

I disagree but I thought Time of Eve was a superb look at the 3 laws or robotics.

Rather, some of my favorites are Runaround
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runaround

and Little Lost Robot
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Lost_Robot

Another decent one is Liar!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liar!_(short_story)

which although not quoted is a good one to know when watching Time of Eve because it establishes that yes, Robots CAN lie when upholding the first law.

I adored this show! It isn't explosive or full of moe points as a lot of other anime are nowadays, but it's got a lot of heart on top of an interesting premise.

this show deserves more attention! I first found out about early 2010 and it's still so low on the popularity order!!!

I agree, this series is definitely one of the best in the Science Fiction genre. It slowly attaches strings into your heart and plays with them like a puppet master in the later episodes. I was literally crying during one scene because it was just executed so well. It looks amazing, the voice actors do an outstanding job and the mood is just fantastic. Although the "How human can machines be" theme isn't really fresh nowadays, the way how it is handled here definitely is. Must-watch for everyone who isn't just after action.

I watched "Eve no Jikan"/"Time of Eve" right when it was released, and enjoyed it so much, that I have watched it several times since then (mostly enjoying a cup of coffee myself, while watching ).
It's a really great series, though the end always felt to me like there was more to come (one day) eventually...

One of, if not the, best thing on Crunchyroll. There's also a film comp on iTunes with added material that gives a small hint of more background.

Yoshiura also had a design credit for Eva 2.0 and a movie (Sakasama no Patema) is slated for this year. Looking forward to it and anything else he puts out in the future.

Great show, it was the reason I started my subscription to Crunchyroll. I loved it so much I have the series on Blu Ray and the movie on iTunes (the movie is the compilation of the series with a few little extra scenes thrown in) ..
