I've been enjoying Hyobu Kyosuke play the anti-hero in The Unlimited, and I realized that there were a quite a few characters in anime that would fit the role of anti-hero.
For the sake of the discussion lets set the definition of an anti-hero as a protagonist or notable figure who is conspicuously lacking in heroic qualities. I'll use DBZ as an example
Hero: Goku, Gohan
Anti-hero: Piccolo, Vegeta
Other anti-heros:
Aoi Tori (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere)
Lupin (Lupin the Third, Fujiko Mine)
Ousawa Akatsuki (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero)
Kōgami Shinya (PSYCHO_PASS)

I'm not sure if I agree with Itachi as antihero. He's a strange character with complex motivations. He does certainly have some anti hero qualities. Although I'm not sure how to categorize him. |

Itachi was playing the role of a villain his ultimate motivations to his brother and his village were very noble and could definitively be considered hero-like.
I don't think Aizen can be compared with Itachi as his motivations were very narcissistic Aizen was also a main antagonist so he really falls into the roll of villain.
I was thinking about Kazuma from Kaze no Stigma is a really good example.
