It depends on how I started watching the show. I could never watch Bleach dubbed because I started watching it subbed. I could never watch Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood subbed because I watched it dubbed. I don't really think better of either, just depends on what I hear first lol.

I'm like this too. Enough people have posted this that I thinks its fairly common thing to get used to one set of voices/cast for a series.

It is.

Both. I love watching anime in the dub version. But if it's not dubbed then I'll have to watch it in the subbed version, which is fine by me since I love both the dub and sub c:

I personally prefer the sub version. The quality of voice acting is so uneven on dubs, and often the voice chosen just doesn't...fit...the character.

I read a lot, though, so perhaps that also plays into my preference

If it's something that I haven't seen before and I have the choice then I'll watch the dub.

When it comes to re-watching shows...I'll usually give the dub a shot and end up preferring it, especially for shows that are heavy on action or very long-winded. It can be sorta jarring at first to hear different voices coming from characters you know already, but as long as they aren't complete trash-sounding, then I end up sticking with it. For me it's just that I am honestly able to comprehend that extra bit when I'm listening to a show in my native tongue...as opposed to reading one language, while listening to another, while trying to watch the action on the rest of the screen.

Some shows I couldn't imagine switching to English though. I would never dream of watching Polar Bear Cafe, for example, in English, because I feel like the Japanese seiyuu's just MAKE those characters. Same with Rock Lee in his spin off show...as well as a few others. Of course, many times subs are the only option with many good titles that CR shows...which I can enjoy just fine.

If an anime already has a western release with a dub I usually watch the dub regardless of if it's a good dub or sub is better. But I do watch subs here on crunchy roll but I prefer dubs because I can't speak Japanese at all to judge whether or not the Japanese dub is good or not .which is the one thing I don't understand when people like sub over dub if they don't speak Japanese . But that's just me.

I always prefer dub, unless it's very poorly done. Listening to a language I don't understand gets a little unsettling after a while.

For me it depends on what I watched first. I watched all the episodes of Initial D in Sub. When I was watching the Dub version, I didn't like it. Now I watched Dragonball Z, Rurouni Kenshin in dub first, and can't really watch it in sub. Any new anime that I watch I would prefer in subs.

Dubs so I Don't have to READ.
Also there should be a comma in the title.

I prefer a good dub but I'll watch both. I didn't realize how much you miss when watching subs. Sometimes for the good but most times not. I was High school of the dead in subs first then watched it the first episode dubbed. But now I had no choice but to stare at some girl's mystery box. So I didn't really watch passed that. I knew how that anime was but that was a little too in-your-face. I can't really explain it b/c I've seen Queen's blade. But this was different for some reason. Crazy I know.

I used to prefer dubs just because it was easier and i could multitask if I wanted to but since coming to this site i have noticed that i enjoy the subbed series more. I feel like I get more of the original meaning and the voices are much cuter too!
