Have you heard of HIIT training? It stands for high intensity interval training. Its the best type of exercise routine to do if your looking to loose weight while still preserving and packing on muscle. I lost 75 pounds of fat and gained about 20 pounds of muscle doing it off and on for about 2 years now. There are many different workouts that can be turned into a HIIT workout and all the fitness gurus swear by it. You should definitely read up on it. And don't forget your diet! When loosing weight its about 70% what you eat 25% how you workout and 5% how you rest your body. Good Luck!

yeah I know about hiit, though I don't know any specific routines so I will look it up. Sounds like it worked really well for you. Thanks.

I did weight lifting in high school and at the time (it has been a while...) I was able to bench 90lbs. Which doesn't sound like much but keep in mind that I am a girl and out lifted all the other girls in my class.

I can comfortably bench 150, but I don't train at all. Can hit 1k on the leg press though, if that means anything

I don't really know to be quite honest. The only figure I have to go off of is from high school in gym class. I think I was given 145lbs to bench but it was fairly light and I know I could have done more. The coach didn't allow most people to add more on though. That was quite a few years ago at this point though so I might have become weaker since then or stronger. =\

That sounds pretty decent, I've seen a few guys not able to do that and my sister's always been a lot stronger than most girls and that's about what she can do.

Chances are you're probably stronger now.

I don't know. I don't really exercise like I should and I was told by my doctor that my disease causes my muscles to deteriorate. I don't know if I am weaker or stronger I just know at the very least that I am by no means weak currently.

It's no big deal. I actually think the doctor was just trying to scare me into exercising more. I wasn't able to locate anything to disprove or confirm his claim either way and yes, it is indeed good. ^_^

Havent done any lift exercises in 10 years, but on a regular basis I lift engine blocks, transmissions and gearboxes at work.
Those weigh anything from 20 to 60kg (I use special lifting tools for anything heavier )
