Also, I can assure you that they won't be $1500 for the consumer, off the shelf model. The $1500 is for the developer kit and whatnot, including unlocked dev hardware.

They will most likely be about $300-$450.

yeah the $1500 includes the Google Mirror API.... I would love to have my hands on that..

they wouldn't release any of that in XDA... and there has been some talk about that as well.

still wish I had the time off to buy me a ticket and go to the hack-a-thon... I would join in the fun to break aprt their software for that.

I remember this, it is kinda old news. Attack of the Show covered this a year ago when they first showed the previews for it on youtube. Apparently they are working on a contact version of it also, how they are going to accomplish such a thing IDK.

Yikes that is a pretty steep premium.

Honestly, it seems like a return to the bad old days of spending $1000+ for dev tools. I thought the new model was "free API, pay for premium tools and hosted environments".

Should be.... Not sure what the 1500 was for.....but I think that's a fee to say hey Iwwant to be the first one hundredto play with the new toy.... I bet since it's Google... It must be easy to alter... I just talked to a friend whose going from xda....
