The only person who can decide if your life is pointless or not is you.

I do know several people who feel that their children are their life and that without them, their lives would be empty. On the other hand, I know several other people who do not have children and they are perfectly happy without children.

Life isn't meaningless without children But if you don't plan on having children, being a female could be looked at as disadvantageous by many.

That's sort of sexist to think that a woman's life is useless if she doesn't have kids . Anyway, of course your life isn't useless if you don't have kids. Just enjoy life and do what you love.

Apparently my life is meaningless if I don't bear children. My life is not centered around having kids, that's not what I envision for my future, and I don't believe that's my sole purpose in life. I know it's not as close minded as I'm making it out to be, but it's either you want to, or you don't. ...and I don't. So what I got was "yeah, but still......" It seems to me that people think: you can get an education, get a job, and achieve all your dreams, find your soul mate ...but you better have kids in the end, because that's just how it is


I have a son who is 4 but long before he was born when I was 15 I wanted to settle down as soon as I was old enough start a family but didnt wanna have kids was thinking adopting but what changed my mind was the man I met who is the love of my life now my life wasnt pointless without kids but having my son made my life even better the choice is yours yes sometimes people dont understand others choices on not wanting kids but it is just that your choice not theirs you do what makes you happy not them happy live your life the way you want to not how everyone else wants you to live

I'm one of those women. I don't really have a desire to have children. Everyone says I will one day, but I never really have. I have considered adoption in the future. I've had tons of arguments about this. People tell me all the time that you wont ever love that child as much as you love one of your own. That's not true. There are plenty of mothers who do not bond with their children and have more or less apathy towards them. I feel like if I were to have a child I might feel this way and it wouldn't be fair to a child. I like kids. I just don't want to be pregnant. My husband on the other hand wants kids. He talks about it a lot. I'm just like, "See this pill? Yeah it's birthcontrol and I'm swallowing it now."

Not true. If you are able to establish meaningful relationship(s) with people (or a single person), your life will be full of purpose and meaning.

The meaning of life is to Reproduce and spread your genes. Perfect example is Salmon, They Die after Giving birth .

Now we don't have to live by this meaning to live a good full life. but in the end we failed to do our primary mammal function of reproduction.

so Pointless in a morally and fun aspect? Well no.

But pointless as Animals that we are? Kinda.

The life of a woman is not made pointless just because they don't have children. What about those who simply aren't capable of having children? Are their lives automatically made pointless? It's just ridiculous to think that. People can believe what they want to though. If they bother you too much on the subject you can always just cut them out of your life.

Besides, without children women can focus on perfecting those sandwiches they should be making for their men................I am bored and felt I had to say it. Sorry! D=

Hmm, I'd never want to get married or have kids.. Both are just a waste of time, money and energy.
