I went last June, and I am now strongly considering going again in August. It's probably going to be hot as hell. Maybe I will take a detour to Shirahama Onsen area for some beach and hot spring time.

I am also looking at a 2 day detour up north to go to Tsurunoyu Onsen. It's a long trip north, there is like no electric, and no showers to get the sulfur smell off, but 400 year old history, etc...

Yeah I will be going to Japan next summer. Probably going with a couple of friends but since I have relatives over in Tokyo we can just stay over there so it will save us a lot of money. Already saved up 5,200 dollars probably going to spend 3,000 or more depending lol.

I got the money saved, but none of my friends are interested in ever visiting Japan.

Really? Sucks lol. I wouldn't even consider going alone because it wouldn't be as fun by yourself. The friends that I am planning to go with are having money issues right now so they actually don't know if they can go with me 100%. Anyways I'm sure you can find someone to go with because Japan is really fun.

When I went to Tokyo the first time in 2006 it was by myself. It wasn't all that bad since I had stuff a little planned out as far as what to see and where to go (went to watch the WBC!). The thing about it is, I wasn't really alone most of the time. I got to meet a friendly chick who sold me a prepaid phone while I was there and we hung out most of the week that I was there. Took me to a few spots that most foreigners usually don't go to. If you really wanna go just do it, don't let others hold you back. I'm going back there this July, and it'll probably be by myself again.

Yeah I guess I understand what you mean. I will probably go with or with out my friends next summer since I really want to go. At least you found someone to show you around must have been good. Also trying to learn how to speak, write, and read Japanese before I go on the trip because my Japanese is really rusty lol. Anyways hopefully your trip will be fun this summer as well.

I'll be travelling soon, but unfortunately only have a 5 hour stopover in Tokyo airport. On my way home I'll get a 12 hour stopover in Osaka, so I'm hoping there'll be a bus tour or something I can do to briefly get out of the airport and see a glimpse of Japan.

If I had my way, I'd love to spend some time in Japan on a language program with a cultural focus. A friend of mine recently did a program like that through uni and had a really interesting time in Kyoto!

I need to go back, I am dying to see Osaka and Nara. I was in Osaka, but never left the train station, just switched from one train to another on my way to Hiroshima. Nara is one place I really want to go to, I absolutely love deer. :)

I also want to take a lonnnnng trip north to some Onsen that is off the beaten path, and really in a remote place.

I'm going to finally see my relatives in Japan. Since I was only there when I was a baby. I have no idea what to pack since my parents are being poop's and giving me vague answers. I googled a bit and noticed that I should bring deodorant since in Eastern Countries , they don't have much use of it since they don't sweat.

Also o_o too pack my luggage I hear using the vacuum seal bag stuff is better then just packing normally. I hear its worth it for the long run and was thinking to go buy some. Can anyone clarify if its a good investment o__o from their personal experience?

Merci beaucoup .

It is my life's dream.
My mother told me that if I find a cheap exchange program, I can go.
But alas, I have not found one.
(Anyone mind helping me on my quest?)
