just a thought, if the OP deemed it worthy of so much of his attention that he needed to ask others their opinions he has obviously thought about dating his 3rd cousin. if it isnt illegal i dont see why not.

Assuming that I was interested in actually dating someone, I wouldn't see any problem with it. Even with siblings and first cousins, it takes multiple generations of incest to create genetic problems. Third cousins are far enough that any common ancestors would be long dead, and honestly unless I met her at some random family reunion or something it would probably take a long time to realize we're related, if we ever did.

Well impregnating a first cousin only has a 3% higher chance of developing an afflicted baby as opposed to a completely unrelated couple; so I'd imagine that a third cousin is very okay.

Depends on which country you are from. I know that in America (at least the civilized parts) dating cousins or anyone related to you is kind of frowned upon, but in Japan I think dating cousins is ok(?) Personally there shouldn't be any blood relations before any considerations, and even then it is still a very low chance.
