Third cousin would be barely related...in fact, I don't think I even know any of my cousins except for first cousins. It probably wouldn't bother me except for maybe at a family reunion; how do you explain that one to the rest of the family?

I did date a guy that I found out may be closely related to me (my father had 9 half brothers and sisters he had never met that were older than him...I believe the guy's mom was one of the half sisters...never found out for sure though). Anyways, we looked close enough alike to be brother and sister and had people comment on it to us - even down to the widow's peak, which is not a common trait...
His mother's maiden name was the same as mine and she closely resembled my dad's full sister, so that ended my relationship pretty quickly. I think we were both a little creeped out.

I don't know any cousins to that degree but I have a cousin that I like that I want to date.

During reunions from 1st grade to 7th grade I didn't remember anything about her [maybe because during our annual family reunion I'm bed-ridden for the most part (yeah I get sick easily in my childhood) and don't have the time to bond with them that much]. During my 8th grade (the 1 of 2 time that I didn't caught a cold) a beautiful girl suddenly appeared on our reunion. It's the first time that I saw her (But it's still a mystery to me as to why I don't remember seeing her during our younger years) and I thought that she's just from the neighborhood so I got instantly attracted to her. During my 11th grade I just knew that she is my cousin. lol
But that didn't stop me from liking her. I know it's impossible to be with her cause she already rejected me 4 times. Of course she will, but I'm glad that she didn't find me that creepy and we're still close with each other. I'm trying to ask her out for the 5th time even though I'm pretty sure 99.99% that she will reject me again. I'm willing to risk the 0.01% of being with her. lol

To be honest, I really don't think it matters, people love who they love. Even when they know/think its wrong. Personally I don't even know any of my third cousins...so I'm not likely to date one in the near future.
