If you won't miss any friends or family back at your original home, then boarding school will be really fun.

The only reason that you wouldn't like boarding school is if you don't like the people there, which would REALLY suck.

it can be a life changing experience, I'm sure it can be fun. If I was younger I think I would have loved that

A responsible parent wants to do the right thing for their child. It could be your parents are hoping you will enjoy a more structured stable environment, adapt to becoming independent sooner, and get a good education foundation for your future goals. It's a tough call for them. Though you may think it's abandonment and mistakenly presume they don't love you there is a strong possibility they see it as a way to not only protect you from becoming a referee and victim in their trauma dramas but guarantee that you will be given a better environment to focus on what you want to become later in life.

Pros: meet a new groups of people, become exposed to different cultures, enjoy different experiences, broaden your horizons....

Cons: already mentioned above by other posters: you may experience severe degrees of separation anxiety missing your present friends, old social haunts, family but these feelings abate with time and pleasant experiences.
Please realize jerks abound everywhere among all classes, political and geographic boundaries. They will exist here also. Don't discard your coping skills once you make the transition from home to settling in at the new school.

However it goes for you, Iammmmee, good luck!!

v depends on the age you get sent. I attended 2 different ones in NYC area from ages 5-8. Counter to my above commentary I would strongly advise not sending youngsters in that age range to these without teaching them sufficient knowledge of the arts of self defense beforehand.

im glad you replied; I can tell you took the time to think about this. im fairly independent as it is- my parents are working most of the time and im alone a lot. i understand they care for me, they lack in parenting, but they do send me to a good school and I live in a nice house in America. My education is fine, and my grades/test results are above average (even though i'm too lazy to add some apostrophes and capitalize here and there). Idk how to express my problems in words... in short- life's screwed up :/ i do have an older brother, but i rarely see him. dispite that, i love him. :3 (not in a creepy way, all of you freaks out there who watch too much shoujo I know what you're thinking).
im filippino/chinese, and if i go abroad i will go to the philippines. ive seen more diversity here. :/
ive moved around a bit, so hopefully adjustment will not be traumatizing or anything. for the people who say they want to be in my position: you shouldnt feel that way. thats like when people say they want to have an eating disorder to lose weight, but in reality its so miserable.
