Do concubines count as being "married"?.....If so, then I know of one.....but she's a young teen
and the king is 19. |

Hard to come up with any off the top of my head--they do seem to be scarce. All the ones I can think of are significant characters but not the main protagonist.
In Ghost in the Shell Togusa is married. In Nana, there aren't any married main characters for most of the series, but Nana K's best friend Junko is in a solid live-in relationship with (guy whose name I can't remember) from fairly early in the series through to the end, and the couple play a significant supporting role. In Space Brothers neither Mutta nor Hibito are married, but fellow astronaut candidate Kenji is. |

Only series that I have seen that may remotely work with this topic:
Okusama wa Joshikousei: Whole story revolves around a young teacher who is married to one of his students, and trying to hide it from others. Itazura na Kiss: First few episodes they are unmarried, but the majority of the series is about the two main characters married life as newlyweds. |

Clannad After Story has the main characters from Clannad married and struggling. Angst times a thousand. Having finished watching Godannar, the main couple is kinda married and they do have arguments like a married couple.

Doesn't anybody remember "Legend of Black Heaven"? Not really my kind of anime and couldn't get into it really, but yeah the main character Oji Tanaka is middle aged and married with a kid,
If I remember correctly he was a former heavy metal musician and it was one of those lame "music will save the world from interstellar alien threat" kinds of stories. But you can check it out and see if it's different enough. Also, what about "Sazae-san"? Kind of old, but yeah it's pretty much about married life in Japan in the 60's & 70's I believe. Never saw it myself but you can do an internet search for it and find out more about it. Oh and doesn't Crunchyroll stream "Kaasan - Mom's life"? been curious about that one but never had the time to check it out. And what about "Showa Monogatari"? I can't find that one but I hear the narration is through the youngest kid, but it is about a suburban family circa 1964 (and the parents are "adults" with several kids). |

But both of those fall under the category of romance, technically. Also a romance. |
