Aren't we arguing just to argue here? Weather prediction is not 100% accurate, just deal with it. When I go sea, I always check to weather for strong winds, tides and currents ...if there is a big storm coming up, they are probably right. I guess it's hard to predict something normal.

A man named Sornette thinks that he's found the tool that can potentially deal with what he calls Dragon-Kings, extreme events such as earthquakes and financial crashes, that don't follow the power law. In the future we might just find a way we can monitor, diagnose, forecast and ultimately control our world. He says that, " I think we are on the verge of a revolution where we are going to steer our planet better, informed by this kind of science. So far just those events that are dragon-kings.

It makes me sad and a little scared. But the only reason, though a dumb reason, is to keep drastic changes secret so as to not freak out everyone and start chaos.

I stopped believing the lies years ago the weather in Texas never changes can shorts in middle of December

I've been doing that for 25 years. Just because we had two mild winters doesn't mean there is any change.

How do I feel? Angry or annoyed I guess.

My entire life has been a series of lies about the climate in the name of getting more votes or funding. I got pamphlets when I was in elementary school about how in my lifetime garbage accumulation from landfills would be everywhere and poison all ground water on Earth, or that we'd have to have insane sun block on at all times because the holes in the ozone layer were going to burn us alive. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

In the 70's everyone was freaking out about "population control" and how we wouldn't be able to sustain our population with current growth rates (ironic then that most developed nations experienced lower birth rates shortly thereafter).

And more recently it's been global warming we're all going to die because the ice caps will melt. Then global cooling we're all going to die because of super winter. Then global warming again look at the poor polar bears :'(. And now I think we're on global cooling again...but it may be a global warming year too, who knows :P

It's all a steaming pile. Bring on the CO2! It'll just make our atmosphere warmer, wetter, with healthier plant growth which will lead to more oxygen production.

Environmentalists should care about issues that actually freaking matter like fecal matter in water supplies and keeping pollution out of delicate ecosystems or air quality in cities. Everything else is a pseudo science waste of resources, time, and money IMO.

It really doesn't matter what the scientific community does about a situation they ultimately can't change.I think you'd be better served in holding reality responsible and persecute it with your favorite tipple.

Actually the population explosion was more a product of the 50's and 60's(Quoted endlessly in public schools of the times). The assumption was that because of the large number of young post war "Boomers" you'd observe a huge increase in population. What wasn't considered was the availability of oral contraception, the economic pressures of having many children, rise and fall of the middle class,Women demanding other roles other than nurturer, and the necessity of two income household.A good example is Japan .Japan has less than replacement growth,an aging population, with some of the most stringent immigration laws on the planet.

It's okay, you're going to die soon anyway

Well, the planet rotates on its axis at around a thousand miles per hour, the planet takes a trip around the sun six times faster than that, and our solar system travels through space seven times faster than that again. I'm sure SOME changes in the weather might happen because the planet is not exactly on a beach right now thinking #YOLO.

I don't feel lied to. I'm not sure what there is to get hung about when it comes to climate change. From everything I've seen and read scientists have been pretty damn up-front and clear about their research and findings.
