Actually, a619ko is correct, although the concept of racism didn't really exist at the time. It was not uncommon for abolitionists to also be racists who couldn't imagine a world without segregation, but held slavery to be morally reprehensible due for religious reasons.
I did a quick Google scholar search and linked some texts for perusal if you're interested. I'm not particularly drawn to this subject, so I haven't read them and can't vouch for their quality.

I like how people damn the founding fathers , so they can make a argument that they should ignore the constitution / heavy sarcasm . Oh no old men who werent perfect (because no human being is) , gave us human rights in this modern day and age! Whatever shall we do? These are the same kind of people who would give up their freedoms for security which is just sad.

I think those you mentioned would rather make others give up their own freedoms, so that the former might feel more secure.

Of course he was racist. Everyone is racist to a certain extent. Does this mean that Lincoln didn't give up everything to help free black slaves in America? He even had plans to sent every single African back home, to Africa. They didn't want to go. So fuck you.

Fuck me? I don't know when you got into this discussion, but you bore me. You're not intelligent, funny, fun to argue with, or a cute girl. I don't feel like bothering with you.

It's a bargain basement mentality. You already celebrate one President's birthday; you want to rub half the country's nose in it by celebrating some other guy's birthday; both birthdays are conveniently in the same month. . .voila! Two-for-one; BOGO, even! Frankly, Washington should have been allowed his own day out of respect--Father of Our Country, anyone? As for Lincoln, I think he well got what he deserved for forcing a war to begin with. I only wish he'd been shot about 4 years earlier. . .

Really he wanted to "sent every single African" and "Fuck you?" Were you trying to make a intelligent point by saying this cause it failed, while I don't know everything about Abraham Lincoln not even going to pretend I do, but from what I do remember and read from the articles up above its not that he was racist he thought that what African Americans wanted was to go back thats what I get from it at least
I don't know if thats the truth but thats the way it read to me. Also when he was growing up his best friend was black. Please try to keep cursing to a minimum if you want to make a statement by using words like that you lower yourself intellectually where you use fuck you could use something like go away in slow jerky motions its imaginative and it doesn't require you to use words that are just really rude. And if I am wrong about what I have read about him then I apologize I can only know what I have read from bios and stuff.

Almost everybody was racist, that's the way the world worked until the enlightened became the majority.

Maybe the racist rednecks are still angry about that whole freeing of their ancestors slaves thing. Otherwise, I'm in full agreement. Why not?
