Did Anime Change Your Life?
Posted 2/13/13 , edited 2/13/13
For me, I was spellbound and very dedicated to it. It caused me to ask the big questions and contemplate higher truths. I amassed a large collection of it over the years. On the whole, it gave a lot to me and never took much away. A fine hobby if there ever was one. It has served only a good purpose, because I found some kind of irreplaceable happiness in it.

mmm I wouldnt say changed.

I would say It made it more interesting and lively.

I had friends that i would have not thought of I would have if it wasnt for anime and cosplay. And yes I have accumulated stuff too and I have one room in my house dedicated for my anime related stuff and costumes and equipment .

I have participated in Masquerades and won some. I have become a voluunteer for the Nisei week parade representing Anime/VG cosplayers , I became an organizer of an anime meet-up club and staff for the local Anime convention.

I met the director and voice actors that I admire both the Japanese and the American and still aiming on becoming an animation voice actor

Instead of TV I just watch anime and some series like Supernatural , Dexter ,Children's Hospital and some reruns of Law and Order and movies . I dont really care for reaity TV and none of the regular network TV series interest me that much .

Well I suppose I would have been watching repeats and whatever other crap (a few exclusions of course) is on tv if I didnt have anime.
So yeah anime rules because it saved me from reality tv and the 1000 detective shows that plague television.

Yeh, instead of going down the wrong path like I almost did, I'm with friends who don't judge and make my life more amazing each day. I'm sure if I didn't come across anime or manga, I would have been a bum and have nothing to do with my time.

It taught me to stop faking being normal. Anime told me being weird is the best way to find your best friend; if they live through how weird you are, they are definitely worthy to be your best friend.

Honestly anime and manga has taught me more than the Bible. A lot of people would think otherwise, but anime and manga has taught me to respect others, the joys of friendship(lol), and to appreciate the things I have in life. Everything eventually works itself out.

Yes in a good way. It encouraged me to finally try martial arts. I always wanted to be more like Spike Speigel, Kenshin, and other similar characters as a kid. They all were able to live their lives the way want to, not necesarily because they were badass but because they refused to be intimidated by anyone, though being a badass does give one confidence . Martial arts has given me a lot of confidence and while I can't defeat a mob of bad guys all by my lonesome the fact that I'm getting stronger all the time makes me feel like I'm improving myself.

I would say it influenced me a lot. I learned to be more respectful, learn to accept others, and most of the other stuff these guys have been saying. It's certainly a good hobby if you invest in it. I know it has changed my best friend for good as well, he was inspired to play the guitar from Beck, which I feel is an anime that had a great effect on me as well. Anime is much more mature and well-meaning than it is perceived to be, after you get through all the silly stuff.

There's even themes and morals in shows you wouldn't expect like Elfen Lied or Gurren Laggan. Of course I guess it's also how you interpret it all. Anime will never stop helping me learn new things, as long as it continues to be as impressive as it always is.

I don't think it changed me from what I was too much, but I know for a fact that I would be a very different person had I not discovered anime. Met my best friend through I mutual interest in anime.

It depends on the anime, really. I can say though that some animes has some really good lines pertaining to life and such. Of course, animes are also 100x better than reality tv shows like the Kardashian. As far as social life, I have a pretty good one. However, I am literally the only girl in my circle of girlfriends that likes animes. It sucks not having anyone to talk to about animes or mangas lol.

Dang Id say it HAS changed your life. For me, I found a connection i had not had before. I absoulutely am intriqued by anime and wish i had found it earlier in my life. Things come to you when there meant to i guess. I love how there seems to be such a close connection between buddies/friends on CR anime espec if you compare it to FB. I love my CR friends and enjoy being in forums or a least reading them. What i love about anime (many of them) is the spiritual wisdom that makes you think of things i never thought about before and so on.....Ive only been watching for two years now, but will til the day i die I'm guessing.
