"Slice of life Anime" Not in High School?
|
Are there any Romance/ Slice of life type Animes that are not based around High School students. I mean like something at the university level or beyond. Don't get me wrong the High school stuff is quite nice, it's just that, now that I'm older it would be nice to see some characters within a similar age group/ facing the same daily obligations as someone like myself. You know what I mean?
Anywho if you have seen ANY let me know because at this point I'm not sure a romance exists outside of high school in the anime world lol xD |

A "Hopeless Romantic" that has discovered romance is hopeless.

Usagi Drop comes to mind

I can name slice of life outside highschool but not many romance outside of highschool.
Chobits and the majority of Clannad after story. Thats all I got, some more knowledgable person may know more. In general slice of life not limited to romance I would say, welcome to the NHK, Usagi drop and Space brothers. Yeah most studios play it safe and stick to highschool. |

steins;gate, although they never really specify the age of the characters, has nothing to do with any kind of school
white album centers around a college student other than that, can't really think of any.. |

I remember Steins gate mentioning that Okabe is 18 because when he sees the vid of 15 yr in the future Okabe he says "I still talk like that when i'm 33". Think the VN says Mayuri is 16. |

Usagi Drop, Chobits, Ah! My Goddess. Spice and Wolf is also slice of life like, but not of a normal life.

Minami-ke (yes, there is a high-school student, but there is also a primary school and junior high student)
K-on/Lucky*Star (in the manga version- and they're not romance...) Hanamaru Kindergarten (Kindergarten) Pita-ten (6th grade) Seto no Hanayome (Junior High)- though both those above act like a high-school environment. Oh wait- you wanted BEYOND high-school... hrmm... Chobits (already mentioned) Usagi Drop (same) Astaroth's Toy (But it's not what you are looking for- I'm sure of it) They Are My Noble Masters (I think...) ...Yeah... It's the "romance" part that gets me... if beyond high-school is what you are looking for, try the manga or light novel versions. |

Usagi Drop is the first that comes to my mind
Arakawa Under the Bridge, not a slice of life but it is romance (romantic comedy), and its pretty hilarious TripleBakaKimidori wrote: Minami-ke (yes, there is a high-school student, but there is also a primary school and junior high student) K-on/Lucky*Star (in the manga version- and they're not romance...) Agree on Space Brothers for slice of life, not romance. It's very good and worth watching.
Nana is more centered around friendship and aspirations than romance, but it's got a complex, reality-based romance aspect too. Honey and Clover might work for you too, though its art school setting and eccentric characters nudge it a bit outside of "slice of life." There's romance but also a "coming of age" theme as characters move through their higher education and toward a real world of jobs (especially in season 2). |

Yeah I enjoy romance in an anime, but the slice of life theme in general is always refreshing.

Slice of life AND romance, but no school, not easy.
Bokura ga Ita That's the one that came to mind now, too tired to look through my anime list. |
