i used to add every one that i knew. ive deleted over three fourths of my friends and really only use it like it should, i find its alot nicer now.

I had a facebook from the start and was one of those people that checked my msgs at-least 10times a day. UNTIL I started dating someone. They added me on facebook. and it started getting weird because people would openly leave the most inappropriately sexual comments on there wall. And i wasn't allowed to say anything because apparently that's being "jealous" (this is the part where i started getting on less, because if the "Ticker" is open then you see the comments) Well Once people started posted half naked group pictures in basements and sleeping over each others houses i........just deleted it

Used Facebook for a few months many years ago, realized it was a piece of utter shit that zombifies people, decided to stop, deleted my account and never went back.

I'm pretty tired of Facebook. I still feel it is a great tool for communication--but some folks don't know how to moderate themselves because they feel that's optional in an electronic realm, and the site itself is poorly moderated otherwise. In the end, great idea, but used and managed poorly.
I rather like Twitter, just because of the concise nature it requires. Sometimes it can get spammy, though.
I use Skype mostly nowadays. Anyone I would add on there is someone I would chat with, and isn't that the point? Plus you can have a status and things like that, and share photos and things only with people you trust enough to add.

I never used mine for anything but keeping in touch, so it's basically the same to me now as it was before. I don't have texting, whereas most of my friends do, so at least I can send them something on facebook that goes to their phone like a text. Helps me stay in contact with my friends who are stricken with a mysterious illness that allows them to text, but not pick up their phone and talk, ahahaha.
If I want some sort of social media though, I generally use Tumblr or I'm on gaming forums or whatnot.
