First link is just video showing the meteor coming down and then exploding, second link has some sound. But its very loud, just to give you an idea of what the people living in the area went through, and you can hear many car alarms going off as well afterwards.

All I can say is, wow, glad that thing wasn't any bigger. We don't need another Tunguska event or one that wiped out the dinosaurs.

And on that note, this is why we need to get self-sustaining space colonies up and running, so a disaster on Earth doesn't necessarily wipe out humanity.

It's pretty unfortunate as I heard it killed 400 people. Not a bad way to die though.

It injured 400 not killed 400.

Other than that, the bang was loud and that shake was enormous. So that is how a 10 ton explosion feels like o3o

Ah. I haven't been home since hearing about it so my information on it was pretty limited. That's good that my info was wrong.

There's meant to be an asteroid coming between the earth and the moon today as well. Closest an asteroid of that size has ever come. Apparently there's no worries about it hitting Earth, but some satellites might be destroyed. Not that the government would tell us if a 200 ton asteroid is about to hit us and the world is going to end.

In Soviet Russia.... damn. Can't think of a way to make that joke work.

A rare and awesome sight to see which is much better than watching a space shuttle fall apart.

Thank God this did not occur over the USA, because CNN would have reported a nuclear attack and Obama and Pelosi would be screaming for a full tactical response of drones against the whole world.
