I thought public nudity was already illegal.

I support the idea, however there is a time and a place for everything. I don't have a problem with nude beaches, or breast feeding, but walking around topless isn't just affecting you, but everyone around you as well. If someone wants to do that in private or in a decent way, fine. People are already being desensitized to sex and the human body, the last thing we need is our children seeing oppai their whole lives.

For guys, it's a chest. For women, it's a sexual organ. Would you walk around bottomless?

It's not just a chest.......I, for one, have seen man-boobs..... some that look way too much like a woman's........disturbing.
I bet there are some guys who'd not have a problem walking bottomless.....wait, they do that now...
(at our mall some dude took off his pants (and undies) by the kids' play area.....heard it on the news..he got arrested.)

I walk around shirtless in the summer all the time. I hate the sticky feeling you get when its humid outside and you have a shirt on.

Secondly, I never said sex was a shameful act, and accusing me of such merely proves you have no valid point. Covering yourself is public decency, sex is meant for reproduction and for intimacy (which I'm sure I'll get a lot of hate for despite being true). Why else would we make porn sites illegal for people under 18? Forget porn sites, we'd be letting them have it in public.

Desensitized refers to when people become used to the human body. I'm not saying the body is bad, merely this: which would be more special: you having sex for the first time with your wife/girlfriend or for the who-knows-how manyth time with her after having grown up in an environment full of walking breasts and vaginae? Sex is an act of intimacy and should not be taken lightly. If you want to argue with me, fine. I've said all I need to.

It's only true to you, though. Sex has different meanings for different people, and none are more morally correct than the other. If people feel sex is simply for fun and nothing more, it's not incorrect. It's simply their view, and who is anyone to say that's wrong?
If people feel more comfortable nude, why should we send them to prison for it? People should not look at a nude body and immediately think to act on it for sex, I think desensitizing people to it is actually much safer. Do remember we're still living in a world were we blame girls for rape due to the way they dress rather than people for immediately acting on women for power. Nudity gives people a sense of comfort and safety, why is that wrong? Because it supposedly makes sex less intimate? Is there no better way to express love than sex?
I do not believe desensitizing people to the human body would make the act of sex any less intimate or meaningful, either. Many people have sex with numerous partners and still feel something very special with certain people. Seeing naked bodies would not make sex any less intimate.

...and because it has different meanings to different people, you cannot assume that everyone has innocent thoughts or innocent intentions about it. Like it or not, there are plenty of mentally (sexually) disturbed people out there who would like nothing better than to have easy access to naked bodies. In a perfect world without sin, nudity would not be a problem, but THIS WORLD is so far, very, very, far from perfect.

I didn't mean to sound as though I was unaware of the wrong in our world, just trying to show another point of view and share my thoughts on whether or not public nudity would somehow completely ruin sex for people.
Besides that, I really assumed Cheapshotfail was the one implying public nudity would destroy sexual thoughts in saying sex is less intimate when we become desensitized to the human body.

Republicans don't have the market cornered on restricting freedom. I understand a little of what these law makers are trying to do after seeing drug addicted crack whores screaming at school buses naked while hallucinating. Most of us men think of topless women as an awesome thing (and it is, don't get me wrong) but there are limits here and I understand it. Either it should all be legal (San Francisco?) or all clothes should be PG.

That said Democrats are restricting freedom by restricting uses for the first Amendment, trying to eliminate the second Amendment all together, violating the fourth, fifth and sixth Amendments by killing Americans with drone strikes without them even being indited and moving to eliminate the twenty second Amendment all together.

There will always be sexually disturbed people, clothed or not.

But like the guy who stripped in the little kid area...he merely exposed himself but most likely knew he wasn't getting farther. Imagine where nudity was the norm...what then? He'd have nothing to do (unless he was sick enough to go to the next step).

If they're sick enough to physically act on it, nudity or not isn't going to stop them. It's usually not about the nudity, it's often about power, dominance, and an attraction to those things.

I agree with you, but lets be honest for a second. Do people treat breasts like they're not sexual, err, don't want to say objects but it's the best word I can find. Say woman were allowed to walk around topless as men are. Can we honestly say that we'd get no negative ramifications?

In some places women aren't allowed to show their hair in public because it is considered sexy and immodest, but that doesn't make their scalps sex organs. The fact is that in many places in the US women ARE legally allowed to walk around as topless as men do, and yet we rarely see hordes of women getting their tits out to cause traffic jams and other civil disruptions. We don't wrap up our girls because we are made to, but because it's easier for us, so what's the point of making it illegal?

This stupid law is all about "cleaning up" the strip joints. I say leave the pole dancers alone! Not only does pasty tape look bad, but it tears the top layer of skin off your nipples and leaves them chapped and rough. After putting in a full 40 hour week, their nipples can even scab and peel. That's just a mean thing to do to a girl.

I am in full agreeance with you. I only posed a question.

So yes, this law is completely irrational.

Okay, I don't want to be the shallow honest guy here...but...

(real talk) I don't want to see some old nasty flabby mom walking around without a shirt.
Or some hairy chubby old dude walking around with no...ewww.
Or some mom breastfeeding her kid in public where the nipple is exposed...
Or some dad breastfeeding (which would blow my mind, but it's proven possible.)

Lets ban nipples all round then force guys to wear bras or pasties.
Say NO to Nipples

Get real people, the only real reason its such a taboo is because way back in the oldin days relious nuts with power deemed sex/nudity a shameful thing.

I dont see a issue with it, if a girl wants to walk around topless why not? the only thing would happen is like what happend in that video tons of guys would show up out of nowhere with cameras and begin stalking you.

Dude, you're not the only one who feels that way. On the other hand, if I'm going to drop $20 on a table dance, I don't want to be staring at bandaids. Who is more likely to expose his/her nipples where either of us may see them?
1) Nasty flabby mom
2) Hairy chubby old dude
3) Cute stripper getting paid $10/minute

I would have to say nay. Nipples are so sensitive... What if you accidentally run into something and it damages your nipple? OW.

If it was up to me, no restrictions on nudity anywhere would exist (just bring a towel, and dress as needed in cold weather).
The human body is beautiful, except in cases of excessive obesity.
We feel we need to protect our childrens eyes from genitals because we reinforce that genitals are something to be ashamed of.
If that shame does not exist then there's no reason that children would be harmed by seeing those things.
