Yet, Where are these empires now? There rulers all but forgotten. The warriors bodies and blood are long since dust. The empires that were so massive lost and divided. There leaders dead and DISCLAIMER BELOW forgotten. In the best case the live on in books as a testament on what happens when power is sought. Power is radiation. It can be a force that can shape and change the course of history yet to touch it is death. It warps and corrupts everyone who has power is changed by the power. Often this change is not for the better. The path to conquest is one of blood and sorrow and darkness and tears. The things one does to attain power leeches their humanity until there is only the beast. Conquest and power only lead men to damn themselves. It is a better path to take to be gentle. The gentle are not going to go and wage wars in the name of resources or ideology or ambition. But, the weak will always get in the way of the strong and they will suffer for it. This is no fault of their own. The thing is the strong the conquers hate the weak for being weak and taking the path of peace takes its own kind of strength one the is greater than the strength of the predator. It is nothing for the lion to wait in darkness for the gazelle. The lion lived in darkness and is no stranger to death. While the gazelle copes with the fear of knowing the lion is out there he has more courage. Courage tempered by the same death the lion delivers. It will be the weak that out last the strong. Those who wage war will die on far off fields. Perhaps, given enough time man will change and his desire for conquest will diminish. Until that time however. The lions and the wolves and the sharks shall feed. They shall revel in the blood ad the death and the darkness.
