Me I prefer Anime. But with my favorite Anime I prefer the manga. I think it depends on how the adaptation of the anime from the manga. When any anime gets you to read the manga I find these to be the best of both.

I'm gonna say manga. Because when it get's turned into Anime there is soo much stuff that they take out and never get animated. key example GANTZ the anime had roughly 30episode, while the manga has like 300, and goes so much farther beyond what the anime showed.
