I haven't been keeping track of which publishers have been associated with which notice period to see if there's a pattern. I'd assume that its auto-renew, opt-out contracts that generates the short notice, since it would be easy to give a month's notice for a series with a fixed contract period.
But it would be a nice contract term to have a minimum of 4 full weeks notice included when a new contract is written. I don't recall any home video license that has been announced and then the home video released within the next four weeks, so if the licensor or new licensee can't be bothered to notify Crunchyroll that its right are going to be lapsing, it would be nice if Crunchyroll had a guaranteed four week phase out period.

I just finished the manga. I guess I gotta watch it before it's gone.
Though, just looking at the thumbnails for the episodes, the anime doesn't appear to go as far (age wise) as the manga does.

I heard the manga got stupid near the end. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide The bit where everyone acts out of character and Rin forces Daikichi to marry her or some garbage.

Ahhhhhh I always meant to watch this. If I knew this was gonna be taken off I would have watched it over my reading week.....now thats almost over but I left all my homework until the end so I guess its not happening |
