Oh man, this is one of the few times I actually did marathon a show and man am I ever glad I did. The first episode was a little slow, but from 2+ it really picked up and got interesting. My only complaints are that it's too short (11 episodes!) and that it's no longer going to be on Crunchyroll. Also, I can only hope that there's a followup. All this series did is make me hungry for more of it. I only wish I'd watched it when it was more current.
Definitely the most "adult" anime I've seen since Time of Eve, more adult even as I would go as far as to say that it's harder to appreciate if you don't have kids or aren't the age where you could have some. Adult in the right way I mean. That is, mentally stimulating, emotionally engaging and thought-provokingly intelligent while still managing to be touching. Not adult in the sense that there's 12 bikini clad girls blowing zombies into bloody chunks with rocket launchers and such. |

good thing there is still time to marthon it. as if my math is correct it clocks in at about 5.5 hours. rounding up to 30min ep's for margin of error

My initial thought is this is being done to boost the sales of the hard-copies, but maybe that's my cynicism at work. Watching now, I hope it's good!
Edit: Although one episode is not enough to judge, it looks like my hope might be spot on. |

Indeed as a father of two kids it hit home for me though I must say I do have a lot of myself time for anime and manga so you don't need to sacrifice yourself completely to your kids and your job as the show implied. This is true when they are young but as they grow up they become more independent and you get some of your time and self back... Busses are canceled today so I must drive them to school now LOL... |

Stay away from the forums, who am I kidding???

agila61 wrote: I'd heard about that. My solution is to ignore the existence of the manga. No need to name any of the bootleg sites in a Crunchyroll ~ its surely not what the licensors are hoping for when they give the license to Crunchyroll in the first place, and its not like any of them are hard to find on the net. sorry if i insulted you in any way, |

Not insulted, just don't want to see Crunchyroll miss out on a simulcast license because some competitor spreads the word that Crunchyroll forums advertise bootleg sites. tommyla wrote: great news for the license owner, profit going down the drain, why not just trow license money out the window instead of removing the series? NIS America is not the only North American distributor that takes catalog titles off streaming after a while. Funimation does that too. I think TheAnimeNetwork leaves series up on their own site, but they sometime cycle streams out of their channel at Hulu. The simulcast clearly helps them with BD/DVD sales, but they must find that there's a point where people who would like to have permanent access to a series need an extra push to buy the series. It also frees up exclusive streaming rights for more flexibility in putting together package deals of catalog titles. |

3.5 to 4 hours to marathon the whole thing, so you all still have some time! Get it in, it was definitely worth watching.

I am not watching this again. After my daughter (finally) moved out. The entire time I watched this I flashed back to when she was little and all the things she did that were worth remembering.
For those of you who haven't seen it yet though it's well worth the time. |

Whew
finished in time.I don't even know why I never finished. I guess that arc_salvo is right, the first episode was not as good as the next ... well, ten actually, from 2 through the end. Anewbis wrote: My initial thought is this is being done to boost the sales of the hard-copies, but maybe that's my cynicism at work. ... It might be part of the lineup in the new site getting established. The publisher here is Fuji, but a member of its production committee is one of the companies involved in that site. |
