Once again I find myself saying season 2 third arc.

It is great people want a continuation of this anime; however, I doubt that will happen the anime ended with the couple ending up together *not much a spoiler* If the anime gets any other continuation the already forced and anti-climatic ending will be for not.

Although it might be counter intuitive that if a new season (2) and the third arc is animated it might help lower the hate of SAO.

Also I think SAO is a terrible name for the author to name his entire novel off of.

.

There is no doubt that a season 2 will come. The anime ending has nothing to do with there being a second season or not. The anime so far has followed how the books go so its not as if the story would be thrown off by a new season being that theres stories going on after the events. I myself like the ending for the show and dont NEED a second season however,

To think that a season 2 isn't coming in my opinion is foolish. There is no way i can see this not getting a second season. At the end of the day for these people its all about money. And this anime makes a crap load of it from Blurays/DVDs and all of its merch as well. No one would be foolish enough to leave such large amounts on the table. They're currently half way threw accel world 2 and SAO is soon to follow no doubt. Theirs in my opinion never been a question of IF SAO will get a season two but only a WHEN,

We shall see in a year or so it is time for a d-d-d-d-duel.

With the dub the anime we might see a second season (yes yes i'm beating the dead stick with a live horse) of the 3rd and 4th arcs. The question remains when will it end. Animes like this if it ever wants to "finish" might end up like shakuga no shana spanning over a LONG time.

~~~
also: the logic of beating a dead horse with a stick is stupid, if the horse is alive and you beat a dead stick well obviously it hurts the horse more
also: that is the logical side not what the actual saying is about
also: i thought i should mention it before people mass quote otherwise
I'd agree. As i said i myself although i loved SAO don't feel a 3rd season is needed, But it will undoubtedly come and either make or break this anime sadly. I'm hoping they follow the books as much as possible to ensure it not going on off track.
I can't wait for season 2/arc 3. I don't have any probs with more anime after an ending like that, as long as the other season doesn't end with cliff-hangers! Great for the eps before the finale but not the finale!
I'm positive there will be more, especially how fast they announced a english dub with trailer too. I look forward to this because it's with voice actors that I have never heard in other shows (shows that there's an ever growing selection of talented acting) & some actors I recognise yet they don't play the stereotypical roles that they are associated with.
Proof of skills and not a one trick pony!
All in all, I can see SAO going for quite awhile, especially the manga branching into new games!
Yes season 3 is going to be awesome. Alicization arc is really really good, in my opinion the next best thing to the Aincrad arc.
Now as far as season 2 goes (see what I did there?) I found GGO sort of boring. I assume they'd also tack on Mother's Rosario to season 2 though, and I am a little bit more excited about that. Very sad little arc!
Haha, I actually liked GGO alot, and the parts of Alicization that I have read so far have seemed a little too slow for me to really get into that arc as much. Though I have heard (from those who have apparently read the web novel version) that the ending of Alicization gets good.
As far as the arcs that would go into season 2, I might have a different opinion than most people. I think the best way to do it would be to chain GGO and Alicization together, and cut out Mother's Rosario as an OVA series. GGO isn't long enough to be its own season (I think somewhere around 6 episodes would be good); the plot of Mother's Rosario isn't at all related to Alicization (at least as far as I know); and I think the focus given to other characters in the Mother's Rosario volume would be a jarring transition in the anime version. The start of Alicization also has somewhat of a causal link from the end of GGO, so I think that would make a better transition for the anime version for linking two arcs.
THIS.
I completely agree with this, but since it has been years since season 2, I won't be holding my breath
I never really read the first two seasons of the novels. But I read GGO. It's just one battle isn't it? Are they just going to put one battle for the majority of the season or what?
Can anyone point me in a direction to where I can read a English version of these novels online (free)? Really makes me wonder what they cut out from the first arc. And what the other arcs include.
