For those that quitted before episode 7 i suppose i can understand it, but episode 3-7 are just side stories and not so interesting, it gets awesome from episode 8 to 14.
Anyways stop saying that alfheim was 2nd season. It was two seperate arcs yes, but it was all one season.

I agree that there won't be much romance between Asuna and Kirito, because, they've already married in-game, shown love and compassion, sacrificed themselves for the sake of their love. In the conclusion of the ALO arc(or season 2, regardless on whether you agree or disagree), there was that "magic happy ending" and it seems like their relationship is pretty much set on a good track.
Unless many people would be into a number of boring episodes of them hugging each other, romancing and fantasizing about their life together(because let's face it, they can only show PG-13 stuff on the tele), the author will most definitely find a new focus for the series.

Just wanted to bring this up because unless there's a lot of action in the anime, chances are it will not be popular and earn the studio money, which is the ultimate goal for every studio.. unless Bill Gates would donate some $$ to some anime charity fund, which will never happen, unfortunately. :(

If (when) they announce season 2 of SAO, A-1 seriously needs to take a moment and plot out pacing and overall flow. SAO's pacing felt like a caffeine-addled child jumping around place.

I just don't think they knew how to plot out all the side stories for the Aincrad arc in a way that would make complete sense while still keeping them in the anime. it kinda suffered because of it. I don't think they even needed to include them, really. it would've given them more room to properly develop the story, instead of making it feel as rushed as it was.

A profitable series does not always guarantee a continuation of a series. I've seen anime that looks like it should never have been made much less get a second season. That aside, if profitability guaranteed a continuation then we'd see a Haruhi season 3, We'd have a continuation of Lucky Star instead of a spin-off that I'm still looking forward to. Usagi Drop is another, but people who know the series would like to see it stop where it is before the story gets weird later.
24-26 episodes is considered one season and 12-13 a half season. In what I've seen in long running anime like bleach, a story arc dictates when a season begins/ends. Then again in Bleach's case they made two or more seasons out of long arcs.

Ok, first of all it's season 2, although it's the third arc, so yeah  anyway, I am looking forward to Gun Gale Online, is it gonna be like call of duty or something? I hope the simulcast is sometime I can catch it becase I want to watch it ASAP |

I don't mind Sword Art Online. It's pretty good if you don't pick at every little detail of the anime. I'm pretty excited to watch the next season whenever it comes out!
