So I notice that lately when they deal of the day is a Figure or Clothing item, the prices are actually pretty good if you do not know where else to buy them.

However, when they do DVD or BD sets, I just have to ask, is CR even trying?

Today's deal, Bodacious Space Pirates BD Volume 2 - $50.99 + shipping.

Last I checked, CR movies come from Rightstuf, and Rightstuf is asking only $41.99 for the same set, with free shipping over $49. Seems odd to me that CR would be higher.

I wonder if CR is even trying when it comes to series sets.

Do any of you buy Anime from CR? If not, where do you buy Anime? Rightstuf? Amazon? Malaysian boot-legs?

Same thing with figures can normally find cheaper on Amiami and are pretty much guaranteed if preordering through them. Not to mention loyalty sites give bonus points per purchase to stack for future purchases. But it's always good to double check sale items to find best pricing.

The few times (so far) that I've purchased items from CR I have been very happy with not only the item but the price I paid. I check other sites but if it's on this site and close to other prices, I'll get it here.

Actually, I am finding that a lot of the figures are the same price or less than Amiami, depending on exchange rate, but Amiami does have a point program. I don't know where CR's figures come from (source), nor do I know how well they box things up (Amiami is superb), so I won't buy figures from CR.

I have purchased a couple, but only when I could verify that the deal was actually better than I could get at RightStuf or Amazon.

As for this one, it is not only way to high, but I have seen three different prices today! I first saw it in the email announcement, where it was a whopping 6% off for $65.98. Then I noticed a few minutes ago that the home page says it is 37% off at $43.99. That is remotely close to the price at RightStuf, so I clicked in to see what the shipping cost would be, to find out that the price inside the page is 27% off: $50.99 + $2.50 shipping.

Not only is it not a good deal, it isn't consistent from one page to another!

To answer your last question, I have bought from RightStuf, Amazon, Best Buy, and a couple other sites including directly from NIS America. I generally buy at the site that has the cheapest price unless there is some premium offered by a site for a very small increase. For instance, when I bought Zakuro, the price at RightStuf was $2 cheaper than the NIS America site, but NIS America was offering a special art card set with pre-orders, so I cancelled my RightStuf order and bought it from NISA. (NISA also offered free shipping, but the purchase qualified for free shipping at RightStuf too....)

I can't speak for why the email is so wrong, but this is two deals, not just one. The Blu-ray being $50.99 and the DVD being $43.99. Both of these are more expensive than at RightStuff, but the Rightstuff entries are preorders and will not be available for another 2 weeks.

I recently ordered from CR as they use fedex and fedex are brilliant when it comes to delivery. Not sure who ami ami use but I ordered 3 items paid £20+ to get it shipped and delivered ASAP. after waiting 2-3 weeks I contacted amiami only to be informed my items were in custums where i would have to pay a further £80+ to release them.

LOL they are greedy, what the hell do you expect?

Just use "uncle google" and a DVD/Blueray burner for things like this.

Rightstuf ships out once they get the goods in the warehouse. It is not uncommon to get your pre-orders delivered 2-3 weeks before the official release date.

Why would I buy anime from CR when I already pay $6 a month for their streaming service? Who buys dvds or blurays anyways? its 2013 and we have streaming media and cloud storage.

Lots of people still buy DVDs and Blu-Rays. Simulcasts and streams won't stay up forever you know.
