So I notice that lately when they deal of the day is a Figure or Clothing item, the prices are actually pretty good if you do not know where else to buy them.

However, when they do DVD or BD sets, I just have to ask, is CR even trying?

Today's deal, Bodacious Space Pirates BD Volume 2 - $50.99 + shipping.

Last I checked, CR movies come from Rightstuf, and Rightstuf is asking only $41.99 for the same set, with free shipping over $49. Seems odd to me that CR would be higher.

I wonder if CR is even trying when it comes to series sets.

Do any of you buy Anime from CR? If not, where do you buy Anime? Rightstuf? Amazon? Malaysian boot-legs?

Why would I buy anime from CR when I already pay $6 a month for their streaming service? Who buys dvds or blurays anyways? its 2013 and we have streaming media and cloud storage.

Lots of people still buy DVDs and Blu-Rays. Simulcasts and streams won't stay up forever you know.

Don't those only record TV shows.. you know... on TV? That won't really help much for simulcasts and streams.

Pretty much most of my buying is from Right Stuf. Every once in a while Amazon has a deal on DVD/Blu, but yeah--I would never buy physical copies of Anime from Crunchy. They're too expensive. (Having to pay for shipping REALLY docks points with me. I only pay shipping if I absolutely have no other choice, but with DVD/Blus I have plenty of other options). Now, if Crunchy had offers of like 60% off or more, THEN they'd get my attention. But I know that's not going to happen, and that's OK. More money for the Dark Lord!

2013 isn't the future - it's the present. You probably won't understand buying DVDs and Blu-Rays if I explained it, so I won't bother. Besides, I figure you're pretty smart to figure it out on your own anyway - you don't need me to explain it.

When I say "its the future" im saying that while remembering Vinyl records, cassette tapes, betamax, giant laserdiscs and VHS tapes. All that crap that we were filling our homes with only to collect dust as the next media format hit the stage. You probably dont understand any of that because youve only been alive long enough to know of compact discs. Now we have an opportunity to relieve ourselves of that. People still want their stuff and junk though...

I was being sarcastic, unless you meant something else. If there is no knowledge in the first place how can you lack it, you don't know what it is if it isn't there to begin with? How can you choose to lack it then? Just to ask that question.

Don't worry that guy is nothing but a giant forum troll. All he does all day is find a topic to and person to flame. His lack of knowledge would say, sir if you get caught keeping that media stored and distribute it you will go to jail for that.

Also on his note to you about DVR, why would you need it in the future if you have streaming and yes last I heard it had to be on a streamable TV channel to record. Guess he's a thieving pirate type making cd's,dvd's and blue rays cost so much to begin with from loss of sales.

I can't speak for why the email is so wrong, but this is two deals, not just one. The Blu-ray being $50.99 and the DVD being $43.99. Both of these are more expensive than at RightStuff, but the Rightstuff entries are preorders and will not be available for another 2 weeks.

Rightstuf ships out once they get the goods in the warehouse. It is not uncommon to get your pre-orders delivered 2-3 weeks before the official release date.

I hadn't noticed that there were two options available. Of course, the BluRay at RightStuf is cheaper than the DVD here. And, as taonas said, RightStuf frequently ships items early. I got both Steins;Gate volumes, volume 1 of BSP, and Waiting in the Summer at least 1 week prior to the release date. In the case of WitS it was three weeks! Totally messed with my entertainment budget for January! That was slated for February darn it! LOL! (This is why I haven't ordered BSP v2 yet. I don't want to get it in February and have it charged this month.)

In addition, if you have ever ordered anything from CR through these deals, you will know that the shipping is not fast. This one says 1 to 3 weeks, and I would bet on the longer side. When I ordered season 1 of Haruhi I had forgotten that I ordered it when it finally came.

I can handle it, I used to be a troll myself. I say used to because I have shred that shallow skin of myself away and am now all the better for it, but I can still counter troll when applicable. I just choose not to. Heh, starve a troll 2013 - I like that.

Clarose probably doesn't understand what collecting is, he is too busy drinking in the club. Calling everyone else ignorant when really, he is.
