What do you prefer? Light Novel adaptations or manga adaptations.

I personally found that LIght novel adaptations have a better script and dialogue than manga adaptation. Also, the interpretations usually exercise better literary techniques than manga. Mangas are in a comic format after all.

Well, no VS threads but hey, it does say "Most of them" would be locked, interesting ones MUST be exceptional. *nods*

Well, like you said, light novels DO tend to have better script and dialogue.. They describe things more...in a way thats interesting. Mangas are kind of, get right to the point, kind of things. Light novels turned into anime are good, VERY good. All the ones I've watched so far are very interesting. As for manga, well they have a lot of interesting anime adaptions too. But considering the amount of anime adaptions, the amount of bad anime adaptions out number the amount of bad light novel adaptions by far. But me, being the kind of person that isn't that interesting into too much detail, I think I prefer manga adaptions. But still, I haven't watched that much light novel adaptions so it isn't very fair for me to choose though...

I'll take light novels.

Most of the adaptations of manga series I've seen ends quite quickly, and doesn't continue on, like most of mangas do. Also, they sometimes leave out some important things quite a bit. Also, sometimes, the art of the manga and the anime is different. Sometimes it's better, sometime's it not. Mangas might be more interesting to read, because it's just Japanese cartoons, but I still like Light novels better.

Now for the light novels.....

Light novel adaptations sometimes do leave out some important things within the storyline, like Zero no tsukaima 2nd, but overall, it's usually better. It usually has better script, more detail into the story, and everything the OP said. I believe the light novel's pace is either slower or faster paced than the anime, one of the example would be ZnT2nd, and Kino no tabi. For Kino no tabi, I just chose it as one of the examples, because they just chose random stories from each books. Although I've only seen 6 light novel based series, none of them were disappointing yet. I've read a few Light novel series, and I think how they represent the characters is much better well.

There were some things I forgot to say, but I got the message across, saying that I find light novels better. I'm not saying that light novels are always better, but out of the series I've seen, that's how it is. I'll be seeing more light novel based animes, to actually do a comparason some other time. Lastly, This is my own opinion, and people have different opinions, so please do not flame me, because some might agree, some might not.

The problem with vs threads is that they usually make a comparison between anime characters or a comparison which two anime which are usually unalike in manner. Other vs. thread pits characters against eachother which completely ridiculous knowing that every anime has their own set of physical laws.

This topic can be a bring about a coherent debate unlike other vs. threads.

I don't see a problem with this thread.

Light Novels. I prefer something that's really thought out, especially the dramatic scenes.
