What are your thoughts on being Biased / Unbiased?

And how would one become unbiased.

To completely be so, it's true for all situations.

And does being unbiased mean not having biased thoughts completely, or not acting on or being affected by such thoughts?

It is very hard to be unbiased.

Usually the best one can do is at least identify your biases and try to control for them. But there are always some you will never be able to identify being buried in your background. Talking to others outside your culture helps.

You can't be unbiased. We all have our own form of logic--it's just a matter of how biased we are.

In general, though, I feel we consider people to be reasonably unbiased if they can present themselves in a rational matter, i.e. demonstrate a logical, objective, train of thought.

Agreed. It's impossible to be completely unbiased in any given situation. An attempt to be unbiased forms a bias.

I don't believe it's possible to be unbiased. We all make certain assumptions about life, and have been through unique situations that shape our perception of reality. I believe there is only one reality, and only one truth. This issue is finding out what that truth is. (but maybe I’m biased.)

Everyone is biased in one form or another. It's done subconsciously according to one's feelings, so there really is no way to become purely unbiased as long as the judge has emotions :b
