Hey guys,

Recently I installed a new Seagate 500GB hard drive into my PS3 because I was given a Playstation Plus account for Christmas. Everything went great with the installation and the game transfers but I am starting to notice that games are glitching or taking a few seconds to render texture. Most of the games that have texture popping didn't do it before a few weeks ago, games like Rock of Ages and Ni no kuni, where as a lot of the freezing and glitching is coming from downloaded games like Jak and Daxter, Psyconauts, and so on.

I'm wondering if there is a problem between the newly installed hard drive and the hard ware in the PS3 or if I am simply noticing flaws in the games that would be there regardless. The fact that Ni No Kuni is having instances of weird textures on the over world leads me to think it's hardware based rather than software but I am not 100% fluent when it comes to technology.

Thanks for any and all help.

Specifically, what 500GB Seagate HDD did you purchase? It's possible, and most probable, you bought one of a lower speed than the PS3 stock HDD.
